My letter in Science about the myth of meritocracy has led to some interesting discussions. Apparently, bias against women no longer exists in US academia. Shame on me for believing the overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary! #AcademicTwitter #womeninscience

As a founder, I made all the mistakes. One of the biggest was not following up with investors or trying to keep them updated as I built and only reached out when I was fundraising. Wasn't the best strategy to build a real relationship

github copilot has, by their own admission, been trained on mountains of gpl code, so i'm unclear on how it's not a form of laundering open source code into commercial works. the handwave of "it usually doesn't reproduce exact chunks" is not very satisfying

What if 🏥 providers and insurers worked with English as a Second Language organizations to improve ESL course access for patients with limited English skills? Might this be a way to ⬇️ language-based disparities?

Wow, I’ve had 2 VC firms copy my fund thesis verbatim. They showed me their original deck, I shared my thesis with them, & then they sent me a revised deck with my thesis in it. And it’s a very unusual thesis.
This is why I don’t share much public info.
Should I care? 🤔

One of the big reasons we see a majority of VC funding go to white men, is because most of the decision makers in VC are white men.
