John Fisher butchering his A’s to save a buck on payroll before the lockout. Just like he did during Covid when he refused to pay rent, refused to pay his minor league players and fed them slop. #FJF

I beg to differ....according to this list of criteria, #Athletics owner #JohnFisher should be at the head of the class, present day, not forward looking & waiting to be inducted.
He's just about all time leader. #MLB

I will publicly go on record saying this to both @jluhnow & @ginaluhnow (❤️ y’all both).
Because, I think my platform is fairly large enough in this space to do so.
So here goes.
For starters, REASONABLE Astros fans know that Jeff’s departure was an injustice. I believe that what happened to Jeff was more than just a league punishing a team.
It was PERSONAL. A witch hunt spear headed by Manfred and others (most notably the LA Dodgers) targeting one individual.
Jeff.
Time has only fortified my belief in this. Many Astros fans agree and it has never sat right with us.
But, I’m not gonna use this post to dive into that. I’ve tweeted about it for 6 years. My stance is well documented and I don’t care.
THAT SAID.
I’d like to make a suggestion to you, Jeff.
I feel stupid/corny even doing it.
But, I am a Houston Astros fanatic.
Logic doesn’t really matter here.
I can also attest to the fact I am not alone. There are many others like me.
MANY others.
We love Houston Astros baseball.
We’ve had fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers all bleed orange.
Some of them not here anymore.
Some we grieve who never got to feel the magic of what those championships brought to us. What it brought to our hearts.
A lot of us grew up at the dome.
Others didn’t see the magic until around 2015.
Some of us remember the let downs of the early 2000’s.
Or the one in 86’.
Some predate even that, but those numbers are dwindling.
We all have our own unique starting point where our romance with this team began.
Which leads me to this. The most important part of why I’m writing this.
I feel that what Jeff’s God given gift, his mental brilliance and competence, brought to our city a collective reason to believe when we needed it most.
He took over the worst team in the sport AT its HISTORICAL ROCK BOTTOM and said to us in person “We’re gonna get EVEN worse. But, after that…just watch. I have a plan. Trust me. I’m in it with all of you”.
His plan finally came to fruition after our darkest moment as a city during Hurricane Harvey.
At a time where a lot of us were devastated and left with nothing to hold onto for hope except the excitement of the first pitch at 7 PM that would teleport us away mentally for a couple of hours.
Then we got JV.
Then we won a championship.
NOTHING mattered in that moment and we ALL remember where we were.
We stood victorious. We trusted the process. Nothing would or ever will invalidate that glory that we felt. No matter how hard they have tried.
Which, they have. Relentlessly.
Again, not here to debate whether or not anyone thinks our success was valid or not. The haters can frankly kiss my ass.
We made ALL of them kiss our ass in 2022 when the roster that JEFF primarily built, DOMINATED the postseason and left no doubt at all.
We’ve had to deal with more hate than any fanbase of any sport that I’ve seen in my lifetime.
As a city and fanbase it has definitely brought us closer together through our unique experience.
But, Now we’re kind of stuck in limbo.
We lack direction and we have a whole new set of challenges ahead. The game itself faces challenges as well.
I know I need to wrap up, so I’ll say this.
I have no idea what Jim Crane plans to do. But, I know he regrets his decision to let Jeff go.
Maybe that ship has sailed and that fire for baseball doesn’t lie inside of him anymore. I certainly wouldn’t blame him.
But, if there ever was ANY opportunity for Jeff to answer the calling to something greater. I think this might be it.
It wouldn’t be easy. This time around comes with an entirely new set of challenges. But, I believe if anyone could figure out the answer, it’s Jeff. Because, he’s just quite simply smart like that.
So, on behalf of the fans who trusted you once upon a time to show us the magic.
I ask you, Jeff. If that phone rings, please CONSIDER answering it.
Because, we’d love a reason to believe again.
Go Stros.

Let’s not forget what MLB abandoned in Oakland.
We’re heading down a troubling road.
Baseball is becoming less accessible to many communities, and the game is losing some of the diversity that has long made it special.
When devoted fanbases can be left behind, and the barriers to playing and attending games continue to rise, it’s worth asking: what kind of future is MLB building?
The health of the game should be measured by the people it brings together, not just the markets and money it chases.

Busy times over here, but the message hasn't changed.
The Oakland A's belong in Oakland. They always have.
This relocation was never inevitable, it was manufactured from the start. Fans were blamed while ownership walked away from one of baseball's most passionate communities.
Fast forward to today:
• The Las Vegas stadium project still faces a billion-dollar funding gap.
• Bally's is struggling financially, raising even more questions about the project's viability.
• An MLB-wide labor dispute and potential lockout are looming.
Maybe it's time for Major League Baseball to stop ignoring the people who built this game in the first place.
Maybe it's time to listen to the fans. 🤯

The A’s have now failed to sell out at least 2 of their first 3 games in Vegas. They drew 8,519 for game 1 and attendance fell short of that in games 2 and 3. Vegas was sold on Fisher selling out a 30,000 seat stadium for 30 years straight, rough look #StadiumScam #FJF #Athletics

We are witnessing sports teams fleece cities for taxpayer money, or simply leave when they don't get it.
That is not what sports is about.
Sports are supposed to unite communities, create memories, and give fans something to believe in. Instead, too many owners treat cities like bargaining chips and fans like leverage.
The entitlement is staggering.
Enough excuses. Enough threats. Enough public subsidies for private profit.
Stand up. Speak out. Organize. Hold elected officials accountable. Demand better from leagues and owners.
Sports belong to the fans and communities that built them.
Enough is enough.

The public records are exposing the truth.
This was never simply about “Oakland failing.”
It was leverage.
Leverage against a city.
Leverage against fans.
Leverage against an entire community that supported the Athletics for generations.
While fans were blamed, ownership was privately strategizing optics, pressure campaigns, relocation angles, and political maneuvering.
And after all of that?
There’s still reportedly a massive funding gap tied to Las Vegas.
Oakland didn’t fail baseball.
Baseball failed Oakland.
