He is under investigation for corruption, money laundering, kickbacks & other charges. In the US he also wouldn’t be able to leave the country as a flight risk.
His brother already fled and his father tried a coup. If this was the US, the right would be calling him a traitor.

Lula is not without fault but my god this is much needed good news. As the region increasingly veers to the right, with leader after leader declaring their commitment the Zion*sm, the largest Latin American country not following suit is definitely something worth celebrating.

Has the Elbit left called this out yet? Will they act more outraged by Brad Lander openly mourning two Nazi soldiers than by the fact that NYC pension funds increased their investments in Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems during the Gaza genocide under his watch?
Someone tell @EmmaVigeland and @mattxiv to come get their boy.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.
I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.
I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.
For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Disregarding the idea that a single mayoral campaign will inherently be the key to organizing the people of LA, it’s important to note that the “internal complaints” being downplayed is that she is a Zionist who after three years of genocide cannot even vocally support BDS.

We call on the mayor to:
1. Shut down all illegal sales of stolen Palestinian land in New York City
2. Use every means available to him to prevent military cargo shipments to Israel from JFK airport
3. Dismantle NYPD's Strategic Response Group and fire Jessica

100 plus people showed up for PYM LA OC IE’s commemoration and reflection on 3 years of escalated genocide in Palestine. An incredible, reinvigorating night.

NYC-DSA leadership personally called the YDSA leadership of their chapter after they endorsed the October 7th rally with threats of funding and position removal before Zohran Mamdani, mayor of New York City, decided to pressure them personally. What the fuck is happening in NYC?
it has been three years since october 7th, and i feel compelled to say something, but at the same time i am speechless.
for three years, we have watched palestinians be killed, displaced, starved, and deprived of healthcare, education, clean water, and basic human necessities. it is beyond me that people are still silent. it is also beyond me that it took so many people this long to find the “courage” to speak up.
never stop talking about palestine. never become numb to what is happening in gaza. i hope in my lifetime i get to see a free palestine. 🇵🇸
This is disgusting beyond words. Not a single care for the Palestinian life lost. In any sane world this is disqualifying from being considered “progressive” or “left”

RIGHT NOW: Zohran Mamdani stands on the Israeli side of an October 7 vigil while Palestinian organizers and supporters of Palestinian liberation directly protest him.
Another politician at the vigil is Brad Lander, who increased NYC pension holdings in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, as their weapons were used to annihilate Palestinians at the height of the Gaza genocide.
Meanwhile, students across NYC are walking out of classrooms demanding an end to the city’s complicity in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
Mamdani campaigned on solidarity with Palestine. Now the movement is confronting him over the gap between that solidarity and his political decisions. This is not a hypothetical contradiction or a disagreement over rhetoric. It is a confrontation over where political power is being exercised, whose demands are being accommodated, and whose are being dismissed.
Solidarity is measured by what you do with power, not what you say to obtain it.

History didn’t begin on October 7!
Years of crimes. Years of plunder. Years of captivity.
All done by Israel.
