We need transformers, and power cables, modern electrical equipment, and different generators – both diesel and gas. We know that companies in Spain and Latin America can help with this. We are interested in transformers from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia, power cables from Chile, and electrical equipment, cables, and generators from Spain.
We need equipment that works with our power grid. And we need it fast. So please, help us work directly with your companies and get these supplies to Ukraine as quickly as possible. So let’s make it happen.

De stuitende leegheid van deze pratende plaspop is niet meer te harden.
Een supermarkt is meer dan een winkel. Het is niet alleen de plek waar we boodschappen doen, maar ook de plek waar veel jongeren hun eerste baantje hebben en een plek in de wijk waar mensen elkaar kunnen ontmoeten. Dat heb ik vandaag gezien en gehoord in Leidschendam.
De afgelopen tijd hebben we gezien dat onze voedselvoorziening sterk afhankelijk is van informatie- en communicatiesystemen. Ook stijgen de prijzen door onrust in de wereld. Dit maakt het extra belangrijk dat we als overheid samenwerken met supermarkten. Daarom ging ik vandaag in gesprek met AHOLD over hoe zij hier mee omgaan. Zo werken we samen aan voedselzekerheid voor Nederland, ook in tijd van crisis.

Elon has worked tirelessly, devoting his life to helping improve the lives of others. And remember, he was a champion for the Left for most of his professional adulthood - like so many democrats, he sided with Trump in 2024 only out of concern for open borders, chaos and lack of safety in many western cities, and runaway deficits. His concern in Ukraine was for the loss of millions of lives; that these stupid endless wars are futile and for nought - he was right!!!
What pisses me off is that the big left election wave, which I largely celebrated (I am a libertarian who hates wars, despite my past support of Trump), COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT FREE SPEECH and a platform like X. Given the total impotence of Bluesky and Threads, many lefties returned to X, and this very platform played a very pivotal role for all Democrat activists to make their voices heard.
And what about our lives? Aren’t they better for Elon? He has helped revolutionise space exploration, transformed the electric vehicle industry, accelerated green energy, championed many liberal causes, and pioneered life-changing technology with Neuralink.
Many of those achievements advance the very causes Democrats have spent decades claiming to be their platform.
Like millions of people, and myself, Elon supported Trump's policies because he believed they offered a better future, not because he signed away his right to disagree with the president.
And when Trump made the catastrophic mistake of escalating the war with Iran, many of us who supported the President felt profoundly betrayed. But since when did political disagreement become treason, and since when did supporting the wrong candidate justify comparisons to people executed for espionage?
Scott is perfectly entitled to criticise Elon's decisions, but using political hatred to fuel moral superiority while invoking executions is a grotesque abuse of his platform.
He owes Elon an unequivocal apology, a full retraction, and some serious reflection on the dangerous rhetoric he's helping normalise.

🟢 Hamas-woordvoerder Hazem Qassem zei dinsdag dat Israëls voortdurende bombardementen op tenten die ontheemde Palestijnen herbergen, waarbij vrouwen en kinderen in heel Gaza worden gedood, aantonen dat de genocide nooit is gestopt, ondanks het staakt-het-vuren dat de VS heeft bemiddeld en de garantstaatstaten hebben beloofd te handhaven.
"De straten van Gaza zijn veranderd in doodsgangen," zei Qassem. Hij wees op Israëls escalerende moorden, een verscherpend beleg en wat hij "systematische uithongeringsbeleid" noemde, allemaal uitgevoerd "onder het wakend oog van de internationale gemeenschap."
Hij riep president Donald Trumps zogenaamde Vredesraad en zijn hoge vertegenwoordiger voor Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, op om Israël onder druk te zetten te stoppen, en zei dat hun stilzwijgen "werkelijke medeplichtigheid vormt". Racisme en discriminatie raken jongeren in hun dagelijks leven. Op school, stage en op werk. Of het nou gaat om afkomst, religie of seksualiteit: in Nederland is geen plek voor discriminatie.
In Leiden had ik vandaag een open gesprek met scholieren en studenten over hun eigen ervaringen. Ze vertelden over vooroordelen en uitsluiting. Over het ongemak en de moedeloosheid die ze daarbii ervaren. Ik wil hen bedanken voor hun scherpe observaties en openheid op dit gevoelige onderwerp.
Het is belangrijk om elkaar te blijven ontmoeten, het gesprek aan te gaan én naar elkaar te luisteren. Door naar elkaar om te kijken maken we van Nederland een fijne plek voor iedereen.
