Manipur government today orders police to verify and investigate viral video of students from Rajasthan, who alleged they were threatened by insurgents and forced to pay up while coming from Dimapur to Imphal to participate in the 69th National School Games Championship. The government told the police headquarters to coordinate with their personnel in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts in the investigation. In the video, an official of the Rajasthan school contingent alleged they were held for two hours at gunpoint by who they claimed were "armed Kukis". The Rajasthan students performed well in most of the games, and took home trophies including the wushu championship. More details awaited.

Good news‼️ IDPs from Torbung Mamang Sabal leikai returned to their homes today. They were forced to flee on May 3, 2023, after Kuki mobs ransacked and destroyed their houses. Why would anyone be expected to enter? Everyone except the priests are supposed to be praying exactly where Ms. President is praying. @SushantSin has been spewing nonsense since the beginning of the conflict in Manipur but this is the lowest of the low. All Indians should avoid posting anything on social media about the movement, location, or activities of our Army, Navy, and Air Force; treating this as a voluntary blackout is a direct contribution to national security. Jai Hind. 🇮🇳 Why a social media blackout matters Even small bits of information like videos of convoys, unit locations, tail numbers, or timestamps can be pieced together by hostile intelligence to map deployments, readiness, and possible plans. Modern adversaries routinely scrape open social media to build this picture; what looks “harmless” to a citizen can become targeting data for an enemy, including for missiles, drones, or terror attacks. The Government of India has explicitly warned that premature disclosure or live visuals of operations and troop movements can jeopardise missions and endanger personnel, citing past cases like Kargil and 26/11 where real‑time coverage had adverse security effects. Senior Indian Army veterans have also publicly appealed to citizens not to post videos or reels of Army, Air Force, or Naval movements, stressing that such posts may unintentionally help the enemy track our forces. What the Indian public should and shouldn’t do - Do not record or upload any videos, photos, or live streams showing movement or locations of military convoys, bases, airfields, warships, or equipment, even if it feels routine or “normal”. - Do not speculate online about current or future operations, deployments, or “what might be happening at the border,” including so‑called analysis threads that guess unit locations or timings. - Do tighten privacy and disable geotagging/location on your phones and apps, especially near sensitive areas, because location metadata alone can reveal patterns that adversaries exploit. - Do restrict yourself to sharing only information already officially released by the Government or Armed Forces, and even then, avoid adding your own “inside info”, locations, or timing details. How to explain this to the Indian public This blackout is not about censorship but about operational security (OPSEC): keeping our soldiers, sailors, and air warriors safe by denying the enemy easy intelligence from our own phones. Every citizen is effectively a sensor in the information battlespace, so discipline on social media becomes as important as blackout curtains were in past wars. When people understand that one casual reel can put a unit at risk, they are far more likely to accept and support a period of silence for the sake of the country. This has costed Russia many lives against Ukraine due to this.

Context: Verbiage of “Any Kuki Tribe” has been abused by non-Indian citizen Kukis from Myanmar to get ST benefits in India, particularly causing the unrest in Manipur. Delaying the rectification of this with the excuse of “sensitive nature of prevailing situation of state” is just a delay tactic designed to exhaust and frustrate common people of Manipur who are waiting to reach a long term peaceful solution. The matter needs to be pursued until it’s taken care of. @NBirenSingh @BhallaAjay26 @RajBhavManipur @HMOIndia @MinistryTribal @MDoNER_India @MaharajaManipur

On the night of May 20, 2025, a little girl in a faded pink frock fell asleep on her mother’s lap at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Her parents, simple people from Solapur, had come to Mumbai for her father’s treatment. They were exhausted. Just for a moment, the mother closed her eyes. When she opened them, her daughter was gone. Six months. Six months of walking from police station to police station. Six months of showing the same crumpled photograph to strangers on trains, in slums, in orphanages. Six months of the father not sleeping, the mother not eating, both of them growing hollow-eyed, whispering the same name into the dark: “Aarohi… Aarohi…” In Varanasi, a thousand kilometres away, a tiny girl with no memory of her real name was learning to call herself “Kashi.” She had been found crying near the railway tracks in June, barefoot and terrified. The orphanage gave her food, a bed, and a new name. She smiled easily, because children always do, but sometimes at night she clutched the edge of her blanket and asked for “Aai” — Marathi for mother — and no one understood. Back in Mumbai, the police refused to close the file. They printed posters with Aarohi’s face, stuck them on every platform from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Bhusawal to Varanasi Cantt. They ran newspaper ads, knocked on doors, begged journalists for help. Six months is a long time for hope to stay alive, but some officers carried her photograph in their shirt pockets like it was their own child. Then, on November 13, a local reporter in Varanasi saw the poster. Something clicked. He had seen a girl who spoke Marathi words in her sleep. He made a phone call. The next morning, a Mumbai Police inspector sat in front of a laptop in Varanasi and opened a video call. On the screen appeared a little girl in a pink frock — the same colour she was wearing the day she vanished. The mother, standing behind the officer in Mumbai, saw her daughter and collapsed without a sound. The father just kept repeating, “That’s my Aarohi… that’s my baby…” They flew her back on Children’s Day — November 14. When the plane landed, the entire Mumbai Crime Branch was waiting. They had bought her balloons and a new frock, sky blue this time. But the moment the little girl stepped out and saw the sea of khaki uniforms, she did something no one expected. She ran. Not away — toward them. Tiny legs pumping, arms outstretched, she threw herself at the nearest officer and laughed — the purest, clearest laugh that had been missing from the world for half a year. The officer, a tough man who had seen everything, felt his eyes burn. He lifted her high, and she wrapped her arms around his neck like he was family. Her parents were crying too hard to walk. So the policemen carried their daughter to them. The mother touched her face again and again, as if checking she was real. The father fell to his knees and pressed his forehead to his child’s tiny feet, sobbing words no one could understand except God. And the little girl? She just kept smiling, looking from her parents to the officers and back again, completely unaware that she had turned an entire police station into a sobbing, laughing, praying family. Six months of darkness ended in one hug. Aarohi is home now. The kidnapper is still out there, but that is tomorrow’s fight. Today, a mother is singing lullabies again. Today, a father is smiling in his sleep. And somewhere in Mumbai, there are policemen who will never forget the weight of a four-year-old girl in their arms — the weight of an entire life returned. Sometimes the uniform doesn’t just catch thieves. Sometimes it carries lost children all the way back to their mothers’ hearts.

#Justice4JiribamMassacre #KukiBabyKiller #ManipurViolence Six Meitei women and children were brutally murdered in Jiribam, an atrocity that shocked every corner of Manipur. The case was handed over to the NIA, yet months later, there is still no real progress. Except for the arrest of two boatmen, not a single militant involved in this massacre has been brought to justice. Why this silence? Why this delay? Why are the real perpetrators still free? These families deserve justice. Manipur deserves answers. And India must not forget these victims, their lives mattered, and their stories cannot be buried under bureaucratic delays and selective silence. Justice delayed is not just justice denied , it is injustice repeated. @MinistryWCD, @Annapurna4BJP @NCPCR_ @NCWIndia @NIA_India @RajBhavManipur @govt_of_manipur @HMOIndia @PMOIndia @NBirenSingh @MaharajaManipur @Bimol_Akoijam @Maheshwarthouna

Dear Tangkhul Naga Long, I have gone through your demands & I found them fair on recipropocal basis. The demands, 1. 35 MLAs for the Tribals, 25 for the valley. 2. Budget Bifurcation. 3. VI Schedule for the hills. Before I go to the nitty-gritty of each of the demands, I would like you to consider few of the demands which I would place as a valley dweller. This will let you realise what actual discrimiation is. 1. Let all the tribals of Manipur be confined to a mere 10% of Manipur, just the way Meiteis are currently forced to, leaving 90% to the Meiteis including rights over other 10%. 2. Reservations in education, employment & promotions which the tribals are currently enjoying proportionate to their population be rescinded immediately. Instead, Meiteis be given this exclusive benefit proportionate to their population i.e. 53% reservation benefits to Meiteis (2011 Census). Cries for deprivation & discrimination will look good if you walk wearing our shoes. Any other interpretation of our plight is greening the grass on the other side of fence. If you agree to the above demands, I'd impress upon the wider Meitei community to close their eyes, switch off the reasoning lanterns & accept your demands, a demand which includes MLA not only for human population but also for forests, jungles & monkeys. How else then one would interpret demand for 35 MLAs based on geographical spreads rather then headcounts? Remember 10% & 53%. With due regards, Malem Koibi Ema Roopmati.
