At a time when discussion around Final Fantasy is saturated with criticism, expressing disappointment, or simply pushing negativity, I decide to look back on why modern FF for the past 10 years still gets it.

Never let anyone tell you Resonance isn't a top tier FF game
This is peak turn based FF
If FF5 partially inspired the gameplay, then they knocked it out of the fucking park
Final Fantasy Resonance I’m finding is not only incredibly fun, but well paced. I feel I could play it for the whole day and not feel bored once.
It really doesn’t suffer from the pacing issues that literally every other modern Final Fantasy game has suffered from this decade.
I would make an educated guess and say it’s a mixture of the hype around the return to a true traditional turn-based system AND, especially, multiplatform at launch.
Imma need them to bring back turn based AND keep building and iterating on their action games.
I’ve been saying this and I will keep saying it. I really believe both is where the future of Final Fantasy is.
Real and true. Ideally Square Enix rotates between both gameplay consistently.
For the future of FF I can’t see it being one or the other, as they’ve already invested in both. It should be both.
How about we debate the new games? at this point i've never been more ready for FF17 and the possibilities there.
Who's the next director? Writer? Composer? Character designer? What will be the next concept and setting?
Nothing gets me more hyped than an actual NEW game.
If people are so worried about FF Resonance spoiling other FF games through the visions, why not just…
Mute the audio while you answer blindly for the games you don’t want spoiled on?
That Final Fantasy Resonance combat is beautiful. To finally have traditional turn-based since FFX in 2001 is long overdue and it feels great.
Hopefully this is a sign that we start getting both styles of gameplay consistently from here on.
Finished Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 and that was insanely beautiful.
Kai Ikarashi and team really did that.
