I am not really naturally a social media video person, but we're experimenting with bringing you more behind-the-scenes content on the CFAX YouTube and TikTok. Here was my round-up on what election night in Langford was like for me as a reporter: youtube.com/shorts/8JcSHI1AY…
I interviewed Stew Young at his campaign HQ shortly after we learned he'd be coming back as Langford mayor. It was a busy election night!

Covering two elections at once is fundamentally ridiculous but I just remembered I'm a responsible adult with free will who is able to splurge on musical tickets... I have done that and now I'm very excited.
I'm so pleased with the abundance of discussion I'm finding about the CFAX mayoral debates online and via word of mouth. It's a lot of work to put on special events on top of regular programming, but it seems we've done a good job contributing to the public interest here.
I've been in denial the past few days but this might actually be happening. I'm gonna need everyone to be extra nice to me afterwards if I have to cover a provincial election right after a municipal one, because that's just excessive.

I am, once again, literally begging this Prime Minister to consider communicating with Canadians and Canadian outlets instead of expecting us to get all our news from the WSJ.
There's currently no such thing as an "associate member" so even if you read this piece, you still don't really know what it means.
But regardless of whether it's a good idea or a terrible idea, it would be a massive move that 1) wasn't campaigned on and 2) hasn't been explained to Canadians.
Canadians shouldn't be finding out about this in a foreign newspaper and hearing the PM talk about it in Strasbourg, if he's pursuing this he should be talking directly to Canadians and in our democratic house where it should be debated.
Manifesting they can come to an agreement because I really want to continue to be able to take the bus in peace. #yyj

BTW I asked around today about the claim SOGI 123 has been defunded, and the @BCConservCaucus release which quoted the education critic referring to the end of SOGI. ARC Foundation says they cut three positions due to a funding reduction from the B.C. they learned about in 2025
I encountered a pine marten for the first time in my life and was shocked by how adorable it was. It was like a tiny wild fox/puppy/ferret thing.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, @victoriatransit,you have the best bus drivers I've ever encountered and they are so good to this community. Please show them all the appreciation in the world, the people really are the backbone of the system.
I used to say this guy felt a little too much of a symbol of spiritually dystopian times. I take it back. If he ends up using his cash to fund breakthroughs in women's health issues after being inspired by falling in love, then that's a very different character arc.
