Never understood Labor hacks who attack Greens because they think Labor is more left wing.
Just attack Greens for being too left wing bro its NOT HARD.
"Debt per person" is a fake metric by the way.
Victorian government debt binge is crazy - ignore the made-up "net" numbers, the only thing that matters are the gross, or actual, debt figures...In 2019 Victoriaโs public sector owed $54bn. By 2028 it will owe $257bn. That is $34,500 for every man, woman and child in the state, up from $8,200. The interest bill alone hits $8.9bn a year in 2026-27 and $11.8bn by the end of the decade. NSW is not far behind: $59bn to $243bn, or $27,300 a head. Queensland goes from $68bn to $184bn, $30,900 a head once you count its state-owned power and water companies. Three states, half a trillion dollars of new debt in under a decade, and the projections still have the lines pointing up. Someone has to pay for this, and it will be the next generation of taxpayers. Figures are non-financial public sector borrowings at 30 June, from state budget papers and audited outcomes; 2026 to 2028 are budget projections.

Calling yourself a socialist isnโt too dissimilar to calling yourself a Chestertonian Distributist - except that itโs unambiguously, and overwhelmingly, more extremist.
Within a rounding error of 0% of Australians seriously believe all means of production, distribution and exchange should be collectivised.
Of course, Rerum Novarum Catholic distributists like my trusted oomf @gewoonzim are cool.
Just two Greens arguing about who can destroy the economy faster:

The official opening of the new Western Sydney Airport is a good time to reflect on the importance of actually making decisions and getting things done. Successive governments had been talking about Sydneyโs second airport since the early 1970s.
With Sydney one of the few major cities in the world without a serious second airport, it was the decision to build Badgeryโs Creek, announced in April 2014, that was transformative โ first because it ended almost five decades of procrastination; and second, because there was also $3 billion in road infrastructure to ensure that the new Western Sydney airport, once open, already had the necessary transport links with the rest of the city.
Thanks to Westconnex and the new M12 motorway, my trip from the CBD to the new airport took just 40 minutes without a traffic light!
