โHello, Chris Hansenโ
From the perspective of cinematography, interesting frames, striking imagery and memorable colour pallets not many do it better than A24.
Primetime is a weird, slow building and off beat depiction of the controversial To Catch A Predator series that blurred the line between activism and entertainment. The subject matter of course is literally โtouchyโ and will have you highly uncomfortable and disgusted at times.
Chris Hansen and DecoyDan were peculiar but well played characters portraying complex motivations for their role in the hit show. Primetime deals with thoughtful subject matter surrounding the real motives for doing something good, especially if it leads to fame and money.
With all this said Iโm slightly reticent to say I never really felt entertained or gripped. The film is โtechnicallyโ brilliant but I canโt comprehensively say I loved it. Alas, for the art direction and acting alone it must warrant a good rating.

You need to deeply brainwash yourself into believing that you will make it to the next level. Put conviction and faith into that belief, and watch how life begins to rearrange itself to prove it to you. People, synchronicities, and luck will start appearing to help you beyond common sense. Unseen forces will begin pushing you in the right direction without you even realizing it. Have conviction in yourself, and there will be no ceiling you cannot break.

Inventive. Visceral. Intense
Clayface is an entertaining thriller that pulls on threads of superficiality, betrayal, tragic circumstances and brutal revenge.
Some gruesome scenes will dare you to avert your gaze but the spectacle of the film will grip you in such a way that you canโt. Clayface was brilliantly played and the pace of the film built to a satisfying yet bloody crescendo.
The villain origin stories is a winning formula for DC I hope continues and for me this is an unexpected gem of a film this year I didnโt expect to enjoy so much.
