As we process the reality that remote learning will continue through the end of the year, I'm reminded that Salem Elementary is not a building but a community. Students, staff, and families need to stay engaged in remote learning every day to finish the year strong!

It’s possible that I’m feeling a bit more emotional than usual, but this just made me cry in joy and love and delight. These cousins—an ocean and a whole continent apart—are doing my activity sheets, the same one each day, and then sharing and doing collaborative storytelling. 😭
Thank you, @Jarrett_Lerner for the activity sheets. My daughter (we are in Oman) and her cousin in Georgia are doing the same sheet each day then sharing with each other. Today’s turned into a story! We are so grateful for the inspiration.

For all you folks stuck at home in the coming weeks. from Monday, at 6pm GMT / 2pm EST / 11am PST
I will be reading one of my books every weekday, and talking about some of the things that went into making it.
We are all at home, but none of us are alone.
Let’s be bored together.
