Tucker Carlson described this perfectly - he despises the people who love him. He's disgusted by them and smashes them with glee every chance he gets. It breaks my heart is thinking of the countless millions of people who trusted Trump against advice, dealt with the ridicule, took the huge professional risk, gave of money and time, broke with friends and threw away careers, all because they hoped and believed that this man would serve the great cause. He never really appreciated what people did for him. And so he never felt like he owed them anything at all.
