Zelensky is desperate to get Trump's attention. First, he announced that Ukraine would resume strikes on Russian oil refineries. And if Trump @realDonaldTrump wants him to stop, he’d better provide Patriot interceptors.
Then he rushed off to Turkey, where he announced that a trilateral meeting between the US, Russia, and Ukraine could take place there - even though Washington and Moscow had already agreed on Abu Dhabi.
Zelensky is practically jumping out of his pants, desperate to get noticed and have someone talk to him. But apparently, that's not going to happen. Russia has already made it clear that strikes on its oil refineries won't affect the trilateral meeting. Trump, meanwhile, hasn't reacted to Zelensky's clownish antics at all.
What happens next isn't particularly hard to predict.
At the Abu Dhabi meeting, Kyiv will reject the proposed compromises, after which Trump and Putin will meet in China to decide Zelensky's fate.
