Verification is not just for ''Japa'' purposes.
It is used for a host of other important things and processes.
What if I need it for a scholarship or to attend a Conference?
Why is NMCN being shallow minded.

We paid for every indexing
Every professional exam
Every license registration
Every payment went to the NMCN
Not to talk about the other monies that we paid to the department to process all of these
How doesn't the @Nigeria_NMC have a record of this, that it'll take 6 whole

My nursing project defence I cried because the lecturer doing mine and the people under my supervisor had beef with my supervisor and decided to come after us. Like you’re beefing your colleague but you decided to take it out on the students. All the mamas! BULLIES!!!
I didn’t have a voice in SON because lecturers were bullies and i just wanted to graduate without being “marked”. I HAVE A VOICE NOW AND TO HELL WITH @Nigeria_NMC REVERSE YOUR STATEMENT!!!

At this point since a dr must verify that I’m a nurse, we should kuku stop going to school and just apply at the nearest private hospital.

1. You’re a professional body, act like it. Cos why are you using mobile phone to snap an official document for social media?
2. 6 months for verification is too long. Countries are moving forward and advancing the nursing practice… when e reach our turn..voicemail.
3. 2 years of work minimum before verification is BS. First world countries don’t even do that. Not that you should copy them oh but wisdom is profitable to direct. Nursing registers all around the world could be filled with Nigerians but how many foreign nurses are on our own register?
I know you don’t want people to japa.. but doing this just shows how backwards the nursing profession is and exactly why people are leaving. Instead of you guys to encourage nurses to come back and give to advance the profession in Nigeria, you’re doing fire for fire.
I will die on this hill: THERE IS NO NURSING SHORTAGE!
Pay your nurses well and you will see them. Because call it pride or whatever, but I personally did not pass through that traumatic nursing school only to come and be earning less than 100k (and that’s even low).
IT’S AN INSULT.
Finally… we know what you are so go back to your oga at the top and tell them that WE NO GO GREE!🫵🏾

A country that cannot make Nursing education better, as no business holding on to those NURSES!!!!
They claim there’s brain drain in the system! Which is FALSE! Thousands of Nurses are unemployed!!!! Many have to bribe their way into securing a job within the government sectors!!!!
They also failed to acknowledge the fact that they have no regard for Nurses, poor remuneration! Poor working conditions!!!! Yet come up with crazy policies to obstruct their progress!

The nursing council of Nigeria has announced that all nurses must work for at least two years before they can have their documents processed if they plan to relocate abroad for work.
In my view, this is wrong, this is oppressive and it is totally unacceptable.
Nobody should be forced to stay or work in a country they do not want to.
It sounds like the government is using the council to force nurses to stay rather than sit down with the nurses to address the actual reasons why they are leaving the country.
Rather than pay nurses better;
Rather than make nursing education more accessible and attractive to many people; Rather than make nursing practice more enjoyable and fulfilling for nurses;
Their own nursing council is putting up lunatic legislation to drive its own nurses into frustration and depression.
Anyway, this is my own personal view that should the nurses decide to fight this in a law court and resist this clear madness, they wholeheartedly and completely have my complete support.
Please repost if you agree!

On this same app, we kept begging and tagging NMCN to look into the practices in one school of Nursing In rivers as they were admitting more than they were accredited to. You lots said nothing, you did nothing. You don’t care about your members or your students @Nigeria_NMC

The Nigerian Government is trying to rip them of their money and prestigious 2 years before verification.
Your profession can be the victim tomorrow. Don’t sleep ✊

License verification has absolutely nothing to do with your years of experience…
It’s simply to verify that
“This Nurse has completed nursing training in an accredited university /School of nursing and hold a valid practicing license” simple!
2years work experience before issuing a verification certificate is unclear… so it’s very obvious there’s more to this… therefore we are definitely not settling for this BS!
NMCN we need a revisit! Your board meetings should be FOR NURSES!!! not AGAINST NURSES!!!!

Hi @Nigeria_NMC
We were taught advocacy in nursing school but it’s a shame that our own highest nursing body is not advocating for nurses.
You want to keep nurses in Nigeria for two years against their will and you didn’t advocate for better Salary for them?

There’s a reason foreign nurses will train in their country, leave and still credit where they trained, give back to the country… and all that.
There is a reason many Nigerian nurses leave and you won’t hear peem. THIS BODY IS THAT REASON! The weapon fashioned against nursing.
What do you mean by letter of good standing from CEO? Why must my CEO know I want to leave? If it’s to oppress nurses, you’ll show up. If it’s to stand up for nurses you’ll disappear.
The time you used to form this bullshit would have been better spent improving the curriculum so everyone can have a uniform and a worldwide acceptable curriculum. Cos there has to be sth in that curriculum that makes Canada look the other way.
These are just part of issues but no oh… na oppression una sabi.

It’s not the one they’ll say strike and some nurses will still show up. Just like nursing school when they agree no class but overzealous ones will show up and the whole thing is trashed.
