Terrorism has plagued Pakistan for nearly 4 decades, and no governments federal or provincial, past or present can escape responsibility. We have all had enough time to understand the threat and strengthen our capacity to confront it.
The question must be asked of everyone: Why have our police, CTDs, intelligence coordination and counterterrorism capabilities not been strengthened enough to meet a threat we have faced for so many years?
Blaming Islamabad, the provinces, the Army or one political party while avoiding your own responsibility is not a counterterrorism strategy.
This is not about PTI, PML-N, PPP Anp or any other party. It is about Pakistan. Every government must be held accountable for what it did and what it failed to do.
Enough blame games. Strengthen the police and CTDs. Improve intelligence and coordination. Secure the borders. Confront extremist ideology. Protect our citizens. Pakistan needs a national counterterrorism policy that survives governments, politics and personalities.@CMShehbaz @AAliZardari @BBhuttoZardari @MaryamNSharif @AimalWali @MohsinnaqviC42 @fkkundi @SohailAfridiISF @BarristerGohar @AsadQaiserPTI @fazalurrehman_ @NadeemAfzalChan @fkkundi @salmanAraja
Terrorism has challenged Pakistan for years. The time for blame games is over.
No province, institution or political party can defeat this threat alone. Pakistan needs a permanent national counterterrorism framework that strengthens police and CTDs, integrates intelligence, secures borders, disrupts extremist networks and ensures swift justice.
Governments may change. The threat does not.
Now is the time to act: establish measurable national counterterrorism targets, strengthen police and CTDs, institutionalise intelligence coordination, close security gaps and review performance publicly and regularly.
Counterterrorism must rise above politics and electoral cycles.
One strategy. One coordinated national effort. One uncompromising priority: protect the people of Pakistan.@AAliZardari @MaryamNSharif @CMShehbaz @BBhuttoZardari @ImranKhanPTI @BarristerGohar @AimalWali @MoulanaOfficial @MohsinnaqviC42 @fkkundi @SohailAfridiISF @AsadQaiserPTI
