Robert Jenrick is pathetic.
It’s not that difficult to see, nor say, that these comments about Kemi are racist.
What a coward.
‘Is calling Kemi Badenoch a “Nigerian scammer” racist, yes or no?’
‘…I’m not on your show to talk about what a journalist has tweeted.’
Reform's Robert Jenrick refuses to engage with @Lewis_Goodall's question about Raheem Kassam's comments on the Tory leader.

It's unacceptable that patients are stuck in waiting rooms for hours on end.
Too many beds are occupied by people who can’t get the care package they need to return home. We need to fix the underlying problems in social care, letting people leave hospital with the care they need.

Power should belong in the hands of local people
Any changes to local government must not mean more centralisation or taking power away from our communities
This isn't an argument against change. It's an argument for getting it right

So Kemi Badenoch wants to pay for new prison cells by cutting £1bn from culture, media and sport?
That means youth clubs, leisure centres, sports pitches, arts projects and music venues, places that give young people somewhere to go and learn teamwork and self discipline, all of that: gone.
That’s not tough on crime, that’s building a pipeline into the very prisons you're promising! And this from a party that added fewer than 500 prison places in a decade, and left communities like mine fighting to keep leisure centres open in the first place.
Disgraceful.

My nephew has been waiting for a CAMHS assessment for six years. He has not attended school since the pandemic, he hasn’t been seen by anyone outside of his home in five years. He has been failed by every single state body from the school, the NHS, Glasgow City Council and SG.
Read verbatim from the piece of paper in front of him. He doesn’t even care enough to grasp what he’s talking about.
Your own evidence already shows legislation is needed. You’re ignoring it.
Neurodivergent people deserve so much better than this. @JohnSwinney
Neil Alexander retweeted
Why has John Swinney decided to abandon 5 years of work on a Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Neurodivergence Bill that was supposed to help protect the rights of hundreds of thousands of Scots?
According to @kellylgiven it's simply a matter of political priorities:

Wtf is going on here?
U-turn to now ban gay conversion therapy = good.
BUT…if govt accepts that conversion therapy is wrong, it must accept that it’s wrong for *anyone* to be subject to.
So why has govt excluded trans conversion therapy from the ban?
Sort. It. Out.

Restore Britain leader describes Dunblane tragedy as 'one murder' bbc.in/4y9zg4o
Neil Alexander retweeted
These are appalling and insensitive comments, I'm glad we banned handguns after Dunblane so others don't have to live through what so many families had to endure.
Rupert Lowe has sparked anger after referring to the Dunblane school massacre as “one murder”.

Right now our bathing waters are only monitored for pollution 3 months of the year.
That's not good enough.
We need year round monitoring to ensure everyone can be confident at all times that our bathing waters are safe to use.

Sexual crime is the highest it’s been since 1971.
Many of those assaults will have been committed by a partner.
Yet the domestic abuse protections that this parliament agreed to five years ago are still not in place.

yes - and the same applies in the Borders. Local government is problematic in Scotland- our rural councils are too large, resources are not fairly allocated (here, Berwickshire misses out) & we need a fresh approach - something bigger & more powerful than ../
The Highlands is the biggest local area in the UK, yet local folk feel decisions are made to them rather than with them
Power should not stop in Edinburgh @JohnSwinney, or in London @Keir_Starmer, and not in Manchester @andyburnham
Give the real north more say, and more power

Words matter and words are important. Especially when they come from elected reps. At times of tension you can choose to lead or you can choose to follow. You can choose to calm or you can use to fan the flames. What happened in Belfast last night was beyond evil. However the terrifying violence being inflicted on people and property tonight is sickening and honours no one. It is absolutely disgusting. It is scary and it is not who we are. People are being manipulated and used for clout whilst communities are trashed. They will walk away from the aftermath of violence and pain. Sinister forces are at work and we must call this out. All of us. No ifs no buts.
