Many thanks to @andrewyounger93 and all at @NUFC for welcoming @sunderlanduni first year sports journalism students @ tonight’s U21 derby - with a particular thank you to #NUFC U21 boss Robbie Stockdale for taking the time to take questions from them.

@ U21 Tyne-Wear derby. #NUFC subs (Park & Salia) the difference. Afner Ca an early handful for hosts. Johnny Emerson & Henry Johnson impressive. Miodrag Pivas error for #SAFC 2nd goal (top finish by classy Felix Scott). Despite goals, 2 good keepers on show. Bit of chew. Good fun

My word. Magnificent.
I believe this will be considered one of the most important videos in US history from this time.

Credit where it’s due to the manager. Earned his corn at half-time today. Nico G and BDB also excellent. #NUFC

Anyone else completely not bothered by the sight of Overton pulling up? #ENGvPAK

“Here in the UK” … lives in Madrid.
Here in the UK people come here from all over the world and receive free medicine, free dentistry, free housing and a host of other things all free at the expense of the British taxpayer. Yet many of these people criticise Britain, don't like her people and find our culture distasteful. Why these people don't go to a country which has everything they want is puzzling. Perhaps the benefits are overpowering them. For Britain to play host to these people is indeed generous and expensive and its puzzling why the government seem to place their interests before that of the indigenous population. It doesn't seem at all right but one thing is certain. It can't go on because we can't afford it, the country is rapidly dividing itself into areas and sooner or later civil disturbances will arise. We are desperately in need of a competent government but you know what. . . . .we don't have one now nor is there one waiting in the wings. What a crock it is!

Curran must never play for England again. And, sorry to say, Alex Hartley in the TMS commentary box should also go. Both honkingly bad. No idea what this says about the captaincy moving forwards… #ENGvSRI

What has Curran got on the @englandcricket management? Insanity from Brook to keep him on. Genuinely lunatic stuff. #ENGvsSRI

When you have two of the most absurdly overrated cricketers in history in the same team (S Curran and J Overton), shit happens. #ENGvsSRI @englandcricket

Hug your kids tonight if they let you, & never forget the contempt & callousness with which the working class who powered this country were once treated - even by a Labour govt (£150k taken from the disaster's compensation fund to clear the site). #Aberfan bbc.co.uk/news/live/crd930p8…

Grifting lardboy here not only not knowing what to “purge” means, but trying to use his ignorance as a weapon is glorious.
GB News is absolutely deranged. This is superb.

Goalkeepers: this guy nails it.
No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now

Do today’s #NUFC forwards never practice attacking the near post - i.e. getting across the first defender? Watching them must drive @alanshearer mad.

A shambles, summed up by BDB thrown on up front (& Howe was rinsed for no Plan B) & Barnes bottling that late chance. Clueless up front, plodding midfield wide open (again) on transition and a mute back 4 & keeper. Steur must start & Jaissle must adapt - & quickly. #NUFC

Where’s Steur, ffs? Ridiculous that he’s sat watching this, like he did Monday’s nonsense. #NUFC
