Has to be satire lol
Recently I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about being asked to clean an Airbnb when they’ve already paid a cleaning fee
As a host, I find this attitude quite worrying
My wife and I rent out the apartment in Germany. We charge a €145 cleaning fee, and we still expect guests to:
1. Strip the beds and start a wash, separating whites from colours
2. Wash, dry and put away all dishes
3. Sweep and mop the floors
4. Take out all rubbish, separating paper, cardboard, clear glass, coloured glass, plastics, metal, organic waste and residual waste
5. Take bottles with a deposit to the supermarket return machine.
6. Send photos showing the apartment is ready before the 8:30am checkout
These tasks must be completed before departure. If you have an early flight, allow time the evening before
The cleaning fee pays for professional cleaning. It does not pay for someone to pick up after you
Here in Europe, we teach children to leave a place as they found it
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the same from adults on holiday
This is why when people complain they aren't included in their ward with callings speaking assignments etc I tell them, just grab a bishopric member next Sunday and tell them you're happy to speak and they will put you to work quick

When I was in the bishopric, I was surprised at the number of people who would simply say "no" to speaking.
This is a pretty good hack in general for local races actually. Get to know enough people who are actually involved and you can get a good read on 90% of the races just by asking them in private what they really think

It's so hard to find info on school board races. I have a friend on our board so I just end up asking her what she thinks of everyone 😬
At a birthday party. Beautiful Halloween themed charcuterie board made by a local business. Cheeses made to look like mummies, etc. Look up the company and all the pics are AI generated. Why would you do that when the real product looks amazing?
Met a new couple at the writing club I go to this morning. They have 3 boys almost the exact ages as mine and are pregnant with a baby girl. We were assigned by fate to be best friends I have decided.
Dropping the 2-year-old off at my parents house like, "he went potty 30 minutes ago and also he had candy for breakfast thanks bye!!!!!!"
I do literally all of these to socialize except the YMCA but I sing in a free community choir so I feel like that is interchangeable
Things my boomer parents did as adults to entertain themselves:
- played cards at friends' house
- had friend over to practice guitar
- had friend over to help with DIY projects
- bike rides
- potlucks
- socials in church basement
- club meetings
- sitting on the neighbor's porch talking
- reading library books
- walks
- classes at YMCA

Men always fan cast James Bond with the actor they have the biggest homosocial fixation on and it’s like thank you for sharing something so personal with us but that’s not really the criteria we’re working with here
I have a friend who recently had her first baby. Her mom had issues and always told her she shouldn't have kids. That of course made my friend extremely anxious about motherhood. My friend said now that she has a baby she can't fathom how her mother could ever have said that.

Those who celebrate a “fall harvest” or some such in place of Halloween because the latter is supposedly satanic never fail to make me laugh.
Guys, Halloween is not pagan. It’s Christian.
Do you know what is unmistakably pagan? Celebrating solstices and the changing of seasons.
They got us again I fear

You all are not doing a very good job with this sleep conversation convincing that motherhood is, in fact, the most important job a woman can do. Doesn’t matter if you’re the only one out of your mind taking care of your kids, since you don’t have a ~real~ job like going to do spreadsheets!
Anti-feminism-ing yourselves all the way back to feminism again.
