Because supporting abortion and transing kids is love.
I'm an atheist and I'm thrilled that James Talarico won because he's a "love thy neighbor" Christian not a "storm the Capitol" Christian and because he's always defended the separation of church and state.

Absolute trash post.
I’m as excited as anyone about the elections of James Talarico and Adam Hamilton, but we need to be clear: These guys aren’t pioneers of Christian faith in progressive politics. They didn’t even popularize it. The Black Church has been leading the way for generations.

Soon enough, Bud.
I've never had a Muslim try to force me to follow Sharia law. But I've had Christians spend my entire life trying to make their Bible my problem.

Debunked.
Catholicism is impossible to debunk.

Is this satire?
DEAR NON-MUSLIMS: You can eat pork. You can drink alcohol. You can celebrate Christmas. You can attend church. Nobody is stopping you. Please allow Muslims to practise Islam in peace too. 🤝

Having a favorite drag queen is definitely a Christian trait.
I wrote this in March and MAGA evangelicals treated it like heresy. Yet it's exactly what I heard time and again in Texas, from Texas Christians. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/opini… "Talarico is one of the few openly Christian politicians in the United States who acts like a Christian, and by acting like a Christian, he reveals a profound contrast with so many members of the MAGA Christian movement that’s dominated American political life for 10 years."

Helpful words from a Lutheran pastor.
A devotion on agonizing elections and the reign of Jesus Christ: Psalm 110 Whenever elections go poorly in our minds, it’s a common thing for Christians to turn to these words from Psalm 110, these words about Jesus Christ, the Son of David, sitting at the right hand of the Father with His enemies as His footstool. In moments of political terror, we like to remind ourselves not to trust in earthly kings but to trust only the King of Kings. This is good, right, and salutary, of course. As long as we mean the right thing by it. We shouldn’t mean, “look, God’s still in charge and He’ll take care of us and we’ll all be fine.” We shouldn’t cite these words to make an appeal to political moderacy. Certainly, we all have a tendency to overvalue how dire the stakes are in the moment, but, at the same time, well, sometimes things are dire. Those who refuse to protect the lives of the unborn are inviting God to pour out His wrath upon them. Those who refuse to see the unique threat that Islam has always posed and still poses to the Christian world are inviting bloodshed and chaos into their neighborhoods. And many faithful Christians before you trusted that Christ was on His throne and still were caught up in the earthly chastisement of God or the evil He permitted to fall on them. So while it’s far more likely that those screaming about worst case scenarios are being hysterical than prophetic, it’s still true that Christ being on His throne is not a promise that our earthly kingdoms won’t be torn apart by civil war or nuclear weapons or a thousand other horrors. Rather, when we confess that Christ is on His throne and that His enemies are under His feet, we are confessing that there is no cell of your flesh that is under the power of the devil, which means that there is not a cell of your flesh that can be lost to bombs or bullets or bayonettes or the jaws of the wolf. We are confessing that, even if your neighbors vote to tear you limb from limb, your limbs don’t belong to them. They belong to Jesus, who will claim those limbs as His own and clothe them in His sin-killing glory on the last day. Christ being on His throne means that, when we in our political foolishness have torn the world apart, our Lord will forgive our evil, lift us out of the muck of our own making, and welcome us into His embrace. Christ being on His throne means that our greatest moments of political glory will not compare to the heavenly glory we witness when He casts Satan into the pit and welcomes us into His embrace, just as it means that our deepest political despair, no matter how bloody, will not survive the moment the One who bled for us calls us out of the grave and into His glorious Kingdom. Maybe things are not as bad as you think. Maybe they’re unfathomably worse. And maybe every earthly victory you’re boasting of today will be ripped out of your heart by tomorrow. No man knows. But God knows you. The Son He sent to make you know Him now sits on His throne. And in His own time, He will destroy everything that tore you up but could not tear you away from Him.

How can you say you're a Christian pastor and celebrate Talarico?
I am a husband, father, and lifelong Texan. I’ve been a Christian since I was 5 and a pastor since I was 19. And I just proudly voted for James Talarico, Gina Hinojosa, Jon Rosenthal, and Vikki Goodwin. While it’s true that Ken Paxton is as corrupt and morally bankrupt as they come, Greg Abbott has decimated our public schools, Dan Patrick is bought and paid for by right-wing billionaires, and Bo French wears his racism on his sleeve, I didn’t just vote AGAINST candidates I know will do a bad job. I had the privilege of voting FOR candidates who will do a great job! I originally connected with Jimmy Talarico many years ago (long before he got famous) and we became friends shortly after. He’s the exact same guy in private as he is in public—kindhearted, whip smart, hardworking, and very serious about following Jesus’ call to care for all people, especially the most vulnerable. That’s who he’s been in ministry, in the Texas Legislature, and I have no doubt that’s who he’ll be as a United States Senator too. I’ve also gotten to speak with Gina Hinojosa, Jon Rosenthal, and Vikki Goodwin this year. I believe they will fight for two things that are very important to my family and so many people in our church community: 1. An economy where every Texan can afford to have their basic needs met. 2. Fully funded public schools where all children can thrive. I’m not telling you who to vote for; I’m just telling you who I chose to vote for and why. We are in a critical moment in both the United States and Texas, so I hope you vote. And if you are a follower of Jesus, I hope you see your vote as a way to prioritize the way of Jesus—sacrificial love of neighbor and justice for those who have been marginalized.

What?
You deserve a government that works as hard for you as you do for your family. Democrats will lower costs, protect health care, end senseless wars, and stop tariffs that make life more expensive. If you haven’t already, I hope you vote today. It’s high time we put people first again!

The Psalms and every example of Jesus praying in the Gospels support the Protestant model of praying directly to God.
The difference between Catholics and Protestants when it comes to prayer is quite interesting. Protestants pray in the name of Jesus, and they generally believe that prayers should not pass through any other person. So, in their understanding, it is between them, Jesus Christ and God the Father. Whereas the Holy Spirit is also involved in the process. On the other hand, the Catholic understanding is a little broader. First, before we begin our prayers, we invoke the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We pray through Jesus Christ because we fully understand that Jesus Christ is the Way to the Father. He is the Door. Our prayers go to the Father through the Son and are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. However, within that same communion, we can also ask the saints to intercede for us. In other words, the person praying can ask the saints in heaven to join their prayers to his own and intercede before Christ. So, we have the person praying, the saints interceding, Christ as our one Mediator, and the Father to whom our prayers are ultimately directed. Simple. Straightforward.

The five solas are a Luciferian framework designed to strip the soul of its defenses, replacing divine authority with individual pride. By removing the guardrails of the Magisterium and the Sacraments, these principles lead directly to the moral decay seen in modern liberal Protestantism, which effectively functions as a laboratory for the destruction of the nuclear family through sodomy, female "clergy," and the mutilation of children. **Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)** acts as the gateway to spiritual anarchy. By rejecting the teaching authority of the Church, every individual becomes their own Pope. This leads to 50,000 competing denominations and allows "pastors" to reinterpret the Bible to justify abortion and transgenderism under the guise of "love." If the text is the only authority, and the reader is the only interpreter, then the truth becomes whatever the individual’s ego desires, leading the soul into the darkness of self-deception. **Sola Fide (Faith Alone)** is a direct path to the sin of Presumption. It teaches that once a person "believes," their salvation is locked in, regardless of their subsequent behavior. This removes the necessity of the state of grace and the fear of God. It encourages a life of lukewarm indifference where mortal sins are dismissed as "already paid for." This "once saved, always saved" mentality is a demonic contract that lulls people into a false sense of security while they walk the path to perdition. **Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)**, when detached from the Catholic understanding of cooperation with grace, promotes the idea that human effort is worthless. This leads to a rejection of the traditional family's role in cultivating virtue. When people believe they have no role in their own sanctification, they stop fighting against vice. This passivity is exactly how the nuclear family was dismantled; men stopped being leaders and protectors because they were told their works did not matter for their eternity. **Solus Christus (Christ Alone)** is used as a weapon to attack the intercession of Our Lady and the Saints. By rejecting the Mother of God, Protestants lose the primary advocate for the family. Our Lady of Fatima warned that the final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about marriage and the family. By discarding the Rosary and Mary’s protective mantle, souls are left exposed to progressive ideologies promoting child mutilation and women usurping male roles. **Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)** is twisted to justify destroying priesthood and hierarchy. Without sacrificial priesthood, there’s no Eucharist; without Eucharist, no spiritual life. This vacuum fills with secular humanism supporting sins crying out to heaven for vengeance. You peddle these solas as if they’re divine truths when in fact they’re Lucifer’s blueprint for destroying Christendom from within. You are not just mistaken—you are *the son of Satan*, an agent warring against Our Lady who nursed *the incarnate Christ* at her breast. Your words are poison designed to keep souls from her protective mantle and His Real Presence in Communion. You serve not God but your father below who delights in your work tearing apart families and souls alike.

🚨 WOW! This Christian pastor walked up and WENT BERSERK on Muslim Dearborn MI City Councilmembers trying to push Sharia Law "You're only ONE PERCENT OF THIS NATION! We are NOT a nation of Muslims, we are a nation of CHRISTIANS! We are one nation under GOD!" "YOU are up under Sharia Law!" "You have seen what has happened in this city, and it is my people that have funded you. It's my people that made sure that you have what you have, and you spit on us. You degrade us!" "We have LOST this city. This is a city that is no longer up under American laws. We are up under Sharia law. We will not have it anymore. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" 🙏🏻🇺🇸 CHRISTIAN NATION!

It is one thing for sinners to be in a church but an entirely different thing for a church to oppress its members for financial gain. The Council of Trent is clear evidence that Rome was in need of serious reform. If Luther was just some crazy priest, why an ecumenical council?
I’ve heard Protestant preachers say that you shouldn’t leave a church just because there are sinners in it. True, but this advice should be applied retroactively to Protestantism itself.

"Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you." Hebrews 13:17 ESV
I don’t submit to the Pope or the Pastor, I submit to Jesus Christ.

What about infants and children who have not received the Eucharist? What if they die before first communion? "So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;" John 6:53 RSVCE

(16) Saint Justin Martyr (First Apology) “We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [i.e., has received baptism] and is thereby living as Christ enjoined. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus” (First Apology 66 [A.D. 151]). (17) Saint Athanasius of Alexandria (Sermon to the the Newly Baptized) You shall see the Levites bringing loaves and a cup of wine, and placing them on the table. So long as the prayers of supplication and entreaties have not been made, there is only bread and wine. But after the great and wonderful prayers have been completed, then the bread is become the Body, and the wine the Blood, of our Lord Jesus Christ. 'And again:' Let us approach the celebration of the mysteries. This bread and this wine, so long as the prayers and supplications have not taken place, remain simply what they are. But after the great prayers and holy supplications have been sent forth, the Word comes down into the bread and wine - and thus His Body is confected.", -"Sermon to the Newly Baptized" ante 373 A.D., (18) Saint Eusebius (Book 1) Since then according to the witness of the prophets the great and precious ransom has been found for Jews and Greeks alike, the propitiation for the whole world, the life given for the life of all men, the pure offering for every stain and sin, the Lamb of God, the holy sheep dear to God, the Lamb that was foretold, by Whose inspired and mystic teaching all we Gentiles have procured the forgiveness of our former sins, and such Jews as hope in Him are freed from the curse of Moses, daily celebrating His memorial, the remembrance of His Body and Blood, and are admitted to a greater sacrifice than that of the ancient law, we do not reckon it right to fall back upon the first beggarly elements, which are symbols and likenesses but do not contain the truth itself. “Book 1”
