Turn around, don't drown
Please help! The #Dominator F150 is stuck in a flood road near Olmitz, Kansas 500 yard south of Highway 4. Anyone with truck and tow strap could use a tug

Some damage at my place between Readlyn and Denver IA last night. Not sure if it was just the wind or if it was one of the many short lived tornadoes associated with the storm. Neighbor down the road had his entire shed thrown on the highway. Lost several trees as well.

WHAT IS A "SEVERE" THUNDERSTORM: This is just a reminder, a severe thunderstorm has a very specific definition. Only two things can make a storm severe... *Winds of 58 mph or greater *Hail 1" in diameter or greater (the size of a quarter) Severe thunderstorm criteria does NOT include frequent lightning, heavy rain, or creepy looking clouds. All thunderstorms basically have these elements. Most all storms on a summer afternoon in Alabama are below severe limits; the biggest issues are lightning (when thunder roars, get indoors), wind gusts of 30-40 mph. I fully understand we have way too many severe thunderstorm warnings issued that don't verify based on this classic definition. Most people don't do anything when they are in severe thunderstorm warning polygon simply because they are issued way too frequently. We as a weather enterprise need to work on getting the number of false alarms much lower, not only with tornadoes but severe thunderstorms. Generally when a wind gust in summer does exceed 58 mph, it is a "wet microburst" that is very short lived and over a short distance. Warning for these is a challenge. As always, we will be watching the storms that form this afternoon.

Blowing out a windshield in hail is good. Somewhere in a Plains town, a local glass shop gets a little more business, and honestly that feels no different than making a point to eat at the local diner instead of the national chain. If I have to donate a windshield to the cause, I’d like to think I’m just doing my part for the regional economy.

Everyone is yapping about New Hampshire in the comments but no one mentions how the Alaska panhandle also up and vanished. And long island isn't New York anymore I guess

Buddy would not make it in Iowa when we literally have entire houses shipped on trailers. Not mobile homes, actual houses
Y'all ever seen an entire Subway on the interstate?

I’m asking for your help for someone special to our weather family. Joe Glotzbach — the designer behind the Spannabama logo for the Alabama Weather Network — has had both kidneys removed and urgently needs a donor. Husband, musician, and soon-to-be adoptive father. Please consider becoming a donor or share this. You could save his life. uabmedicine.org/specialties/…

Who else hates when people lie about the speed limit for credibility? You're on an undivided, two lane Iowa state highway. The maximum speed limit for those anywhere in the state is 55mph. You are, in fact part, of the problem. If you need proof, I can send you the state laws.

Let’s clear a few things up: 1. Here you are holding your camera straight out the window. 2. The speed limit there is 65, not 55, and I was going 65. 3. At the end of the day, you pulled out onto an active highway. Please don’t try to make this my fault. 4. There’s no need to get this defensive over a simple issue! 5. My dms are open and we could have discussed this in private. Had you not quoted my post nobody would’ve even known it was you! It’s not that deep bro

This is very true for super popular chasers. Let's be honest, you're the only people the public sees. So if people see all of you driving like assholes, they'll assume that's how we all drive. And idk about you, but I'd rather have chasing in a good eye. Drive better y'all.
I keep seeing all these posts about how teens don't know how to drive when storm chasing, but after yesterday I don't think the adults are any better. Just because you have a fancy roof camera and amber lights does not mean it's ok to go 95 in a 45 to pass in a no passing zone.

Okay Elmo, we’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news: Today, we’re launching to fly around the Moon! The bad news: The Moon is absolutely covered in rocks.

Be careful, Gays! Hail approaching. Paradise will be impacted too. This is along the I-57 corridor in central Illinois. Some of the hail could be larger than quarters.

I know it's not as cool as being on the top ten or something but I'm guessing @Shinedown probably has tens of millions of yearly listeners so I'd say being this high on my favorite band is still pretty cool
