Very widespread significant tornado damage across populated areas in Menasha, Wisconsin this afternoon. This tornado was likely quite large given how wide the damage path is.

Terrifying footage captured by Stephanie Fishbaugher today shows a tornado spreading debris near Hwy 52 and Marion, just outside of Rochester Minnesota. Car’s and trucks on a standstill as the tornado passed 🌪️
This is just one of several confirmed tornadoes in today’s tornado outbreak across SE Minnesota.

An abundance of snow is neat in the eastern US (+23 feet above 15-year mean), but the real story is the lack of snow out west (-20 feet). Not good for water resources later this year.

yesterday at 2:08pm just barely northwest of Clitherall, Minnesota - this was the first tornado of the day, and the storm was hardly registering precip on radar, not unusual in developing cells in big 3cape sfc vort, shortly after this, weak ground vortices were observed and I made my tornado report, which I rarely do anymore because usually other chasers report it first, but this cell definitely needed the warning - more videos coming

NWS Twin Cities has found at least 5 tornadoes in MN and western WI. 🌪️
1 west of Kenyon MN is EF-1. 4 tornadoes south of Eau Claire in storms that passed just south/east of the Twin Cities! MSP area should buy a lottery ticket.

There isn't really a strong signal for below normal temperatures in the longer-range guidance through March. Even if we were to get a cold outbreak, the continued melting of the snowpack to our north & the higher Sun angle means it would be hard to see really frigid temperatures.
