No government or international institution should fund Pakistan’s regime while it defies Supreme Court orders, subjects its democratically elected leader to isolation and torture, and opens fire on peaceful protesters.
Human rights must be non-negotiable.
(On a side note, funding these crooks will do nothing for the Pakistani people anyway. We all know it'll get split up and pocketed by the govt and the army)
🇵🇰 Pakistan's second periodic review at the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) 80th session will take place today and tomorrow.
Amnesty International has highlighted that Pakistan has not taken substantive steps to incorporate economic, social and cultural rights into its domestic legislation as binding rights, and has raised serious concerns regarding the authorities' ability to ensure compliance with the principle of non-discrimination (article 2(2)), right to just and favourable conditions of work (article 7), right to form and join trade unions (article 8), and the right to health (article 12).

I said it then and I’ll say it again, Pakistan is the key to this conflict. Making the Balochistan region hot before gunning at Iran was part of our pressure campaign. Kurds in the Northwest, Balochi trouble in the Southeast and trouble in the West where Hormuz is. The fact that Rubio is signaling this, shows that they are about to wrap up this conflict in the interim with a bow. They’re tryna tame all conflicts now and really cool things down globally.
