PolarWx has a built-in cyclone tracker 🌀 If your map has high/low pressure labels plotted, click on any "L" marker to generate a track for that cyclone. The ECMWF & GFS offer much more detailed cyclone diagnostics, like storm-averaged soundings and customizable shear layers!

Landsat 9 captured very clear images of the Himalayan glacier that collapsed, triggering the catastrophic flash floods in Nepal. Estimating very roughly from these images, it appears that the area that failed may have spanned ~1 km² of ice and rock. h/t @theiaincameron

This is seriously scary. CCTV footage from Gyirong Port in Tibet, China, directly opposite Nepal’s Rasuwa district. This flash flood hit here first and later caused massive havoc in Nepal. Can’t even imagine someone surviving this. Prayers for everyone affected. 🙏
