I come from Papua New Guinea, a predominantly Black nation. America is predominantly White. I rarely talk about race, but this needs to be said. You have a country to preserve. Political power matters. Many immigrants understand this because they know the importance of having a voice in shaping the country they call home. Vote for people who reflect your values. If your Christian faith matters to you, elect leaders who respect and uphold those values, even though no politician is perfect. Pay attention to what happens when different political and religious priorities shape local policies, including in New York and other major cities. Then hold your elected officials accountable. Demand policy changes when they fall short. You can disagree with your leaders. You can be frustrated with your party. But sitting out an election means giving up your influence over the outcome. Vote according to your values. Demand results while you still have the power to shape your country's future. Don't surrender your voice and then complain about the direction America is heading. 🇺🇸
