The two party system causes a lot of problems but does effectively prevent this exact problem.
Estimated voter shifts between parties: Likud lost almost no voters to the left. Bennett attracted almost no voters from the right. Yashar drew half of Lapid’s voters and all of Gantz’s voters.

YOU CAN STREAM FILES why am I having to remind AI of this? Why does nobody know that you can stream files. Why does everybody feel the need to hold everything in memory all the time. I have been yelling at people about this for like ten years and now I am yelling at machines.

A lot of people are looking at the Israeli election results with the idea that the party with the most votes wins and boy is that not it. Israeli politics are completely incomprehensible 4-D chess where some of the key players are obsessed with issues you would not believe.

Weirdly, it's much more respectful for the Spurs to be beating this Kings squad like a drum with OG Anunoby's face on it than it would be if they let the game stay close.

Do you think anybody involved knows it was a story first? Probably not, right?
HBO is officially developing ‘THE BIRDS’, a new series inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's film. Starring Sarah Snook, the series is a modern-day reimagining of the film set in Alaska with a murder mystery at the center. (Source: Deadline)

People love to beat up on Dave Ramsey but a lot of people swear that Ramsey saved their financial lives. I think Hammer's advice is probably somewhat better on net, but does anybody take it or do they just enjoy watching him yell at people?
Apparently telling people to pack a sandwich was controversial… I’d like to address that.

It's a great episode but it's odd that in a series where the whole stick was that it wasn't just self-contained adventures that this never really came back to bite in any way.
Watching DS9 “In the Pale Moonlight” right now. Absolute cinema.

The Cheesecake Factory thing reminds me of an old SNL gag where Baghdad Bob said that actually Iraq had invaded the US and renamed all the Houlihan's to Husseinahan's and the Cinnebons to Saddamabons. I remember this clearly, yet regularly call my kids the wrong names.

This is actually good news.
Crazy — we’re only eight days away from the start of the 2028 primaries.

Apparently the "close reading" missed that they're referring to nicknames, not actual names. The version I had on cassette growing up gave examples of Dizzy and Daffy Dean, who did not, perhaps, cause great ethnic anxiety.

Also unclear if Cowen knows that there are many versions of the sketch and the character names he finds so meaningful are the names of the characters in the movie, not just the sketch.
