Time for a belated (my graphics friend recently had a kid, congrats, Laura!) victory lap! On Saturday, with a clear quorum and over 82% of the vote, I was endorsed by the DFL! With a clear-cut progressive park board slate, it's time to chart a new future for our parks!

Democrats will now control the House and Senate and be able to hold Trump accountable. That's great. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, we must do more. We must aggressively fight for working families. No more excuses.

Brad Tabke is re-elected. In the face of the ICE Surge, Brad showed up & stood up for his neighbors. From winning from 14 votes in 2024 to over 3,000 today, his neighbors clearly see the work he does. We’re glad to keep you in the House & Shakopee sure is too. Congrats, Brad!

JUST IN: Dems have gained control of the state government of Wisconsin. For first time since 2010. They have flipped state Senate & flipped state House, and kept the governorship. Among things they're likely to do: repeal Scott Walker's restrictions on collective bargaining.

Nine months ago, Alex Pretti was on Nicollet Ave when federal agents disarmed him before shooting him at least 10 times, killing him. Today, America is voting, and in Minneapolis, people are showing up on Nicollet Ave in the rain to place their “I Voted” stickers at his memorial.

Republican Michele Tafoya is a 'no comment' on the Kare 11 story about ICE purchasing a prison for $496m from a company that offered to sell the vacant prison to the state in 2025 for $75 million. startribune.com/live-minneso…

Donald Trump is the most corrupt president in living memory, and even for him, this is shocking. Congress must investigate this corrupt $400+ million overpayment to a Trump donor immediately.
"New records obtained by KARE 11 show the company that owned a vacant private prison in Appleton, Minnesota offered to sell it to the state in 2025 for $75 million. One year later, the Trump administration agreed to use taxpayer funds to buy the same abandoned prison from CoreCivic, Inc., for $495.6 million. The price difference, $420 million, is more than taxpayers are estimated to have lost in Minnesota’s much-publicized Feeding Our Future fraud scandal." kare11.com/article/news/inve…

Q: If the administration has declared war on waste and fraud, can you explain the $420 million overpayment for a prison in Appleton, Minnesota, when the company offered it to the state of Minnesota for $75 million? BESSENT: That question is a waste of time.

Chris Finch on the leagues efforts to slow down the amount of flopping “Well, here’s what my take on it… I was all for the league cleaning up flopping, you know, when I heard they were going to do it… unfortunately I think the league has their own definition of what a flop is, which is needed but confusing when like you see a flop, everyone kind of knows what it is. It doesn’t really need to be overly explained. I think where they got it wrong is all these flops are coming on the defense and that’s not what the people want out of the game. They want the flops on the offensive players out of the game. You know, the league was very intentional about saying the fans didn’t want to see flopping but that’s not the flopping, they don’t care if a defender spills down and shouts. What they care is that the offensive players are baiting the game and falling down and getting unnecessary free throws. That’s what they care about because that’s not really in the spirit of what anyone wants to tune in and watch”

I actually wanted to ratify Ja playing under Micah Nori for a great all-around game, so I clicked on the video of the 8 assists to see how they unfolded. At least half are fraudulent. It's a trend around the league, made fraught by gambling, albeit less so now without prop bets.
Wow, the assist inflation numbers the Portland scorekeeper gave Ja Morant last night would have made the guys in Utah fluffing up John Stockton blush. Pro tip: Inbounding the ball to a teammate who drives through three opponents for a layup is not a dime.

We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times. Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely. That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus. nydailynews.com/2026/10/21/n…
