I am watching this video and laughing at the guy who claims that RCCG will soon go into extinction. I wonder if he has any idea of the number of LSC parishes we have across the country. The combined attendance of LSC parishes alone is greater than that of many of the new-generation churches (caveat: not for competition). LSC parishes have extended their presence to Europe as well. Sometimes, people make predictions without having the slightest understanding of the scale of what they are talking about. The goal is to make heaven and take as many people as possible along. Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

There was a particular way garri used to be sold when I was growing up. In those days, the buyer, not the seller, used to measure the garri. Sometimes, the buyer would first spread a wrapper on the floor, place her bowl on it, and then proceed to measure the garri herself using the measuring container. She would scoop the garri into the container, press it down repeatedly to ensure there was absolutely no empty space, until the garri became so compact that the larger portion of the garri overflowed onto her arms. Only then would she empty the measured garri into the bowl placed on the wrapper.

I watched the debate between President Tinubu's supporters and Peter Obi's supporters on the Honest Bunch Podcast. The Obi supporters appeared less grounded in the technical and practical dimensions of governance, relying largely on emotional appeals, sentiment and what I would describe as emotional blackmail rather than substantive arguments. On the other hand, President Tinubu’s supporters demonstrated a stronger grasp of governance issues, engaging with facts, policy considerations and the technical language of governance. They deployed relevant governance concepts and terminologies to explain and defend their positions. For me, the debate was a reminder that governance is much more than rhetoric, public sentiment or the ability to appeal to people's emotions. It requires a sound understanding of policy, institutions, public finance, administration and the complexities of managing a country.
