Yeah we it’s sad we need to create laws to block the common sense things like kill food to eat or put down a sick animal or destroy a harmful rodent

Now lets move on to getting IP 25 onto the 2028 ballot. It needs a few refinements, but it would amend the Oregon Constitution and make Farming, Ranching, fishing, hunting, trapping, having pets, pest control a right and not a privilege.

The Oregon measure needed 117,173 verified signatures but ended up with 104,262. Activists have now failed to qualify in three consecutive elections. However, the chief petitioner vows to try again. @RMEF

🚨 IP 28 has officially FAILED and will NOT appear on Oregon’s November ballot.
IP 28, also known as the PEACE Act, sought to rewrite Oregon’s animal cruelty laws in ways opponents argued would effectively criminalize hunting, fishing, trapping, livestock production, and many common agricultural practices across our state.
Supporters submitted 142,784 signatures, well above the 117,173 required to qualify. But after the Secretary of State completed signature verification, only 104,262 signatures were certified as valid — falling 12,911 signatures short of making the ballot.
This marks the third attempt by chief petitioner David Michelson to advance a similar initiative. Michelson has said his goal is to “start the conversation.”
My opinion? We can’t let our guard down. The attempts from Michelson are to build awareness, identify supporters, raise money, refine messaging, and come back stronger. We’ve watched the same long-term strategy play out with attacks on our Second Amendment rights. They don’t have to win all at once if they can slowly chip away over time.
Today’s outcome is a victory for Oregon’s sportsmen and women, ranchers, farmers, and everyone who values our outdoor heritage. But this isn’t the end of the conversation. We have to stay informed, stay engaged, and stay proactive — because if we don’t defend our way of life, someone else will continue trying to dismantle it.

Hunting isn’t free. But it is still needed to keep wildlife in check and not over breeding. Plus cattle and pork and sheep farmers are supplying critical meat to our population. If anyone is vegan or vegetarian, cool, but don’t politicize your choice for the majority of humanity. If so, you’ll awaken the kraken for sure.

IP28 has failed to qualify for the November ballot in Oregon. It would have banned hunting and fishing coming from the extreme left to try to control all Oregonians. Let freedom ring in Oregon.

They don’t like the fact every single person participating in rodeo or paying their hard earned money to go are true Americans! Rodeo is part of the backbone of America and without the youth programs we wouldn’t see the amazing talent in the livestock or athletes.

PRCA member Scott warns in our interview that Oregon’s IP28 would remove exemptions in animal cruelty laws, criminalizing core rodeo practices and making it impossible to host traditional events safely or legally in the state.
He says the strategy mirrors other states, where activists began with limited bans before pushing to eliminate rodeo entirely.
Scott also highlighted extreme claims by opponents that children’s events like mutton busting teach kids to become rapists.
