🌍The Global-Hub on Indigenous Peoples’ Food and Knowledge Systems, a strategic and innovative think tank, gathered for the fourth time at FAO headquarters, in the Indigenous Peoples’ Territory, on 12–16 October. ➕More than 300 participants took part, including over 120 Indigenous and non-Indigenous experts and Indigenous Youth, from around 40 Indigenous Peoples’ organizations and 55 universities and research centres, across more than 40 sessions. The week set out to reverse wrong narratives on Indigenous Peoples and their food and knowledge systems. 🔬Is your science better than others? Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge is real science of sustainability. ⚖️Are you born vulnerable? Neither are Indigenous Peoples. The violation of their rights puts them in situations of vulnerability. 🍃Is mobility really primitive? Indigenous Peoples’ mobile ways of living demonstrate adaptability and sustainability. The Global-Hub reaffirms that food should never be a means of pressure, division or conflict, but a source of life, dignity, solidarity and peace. #FAOGlobalHub2026 #IndigenousPeoples

Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow.  Food that is saved is food that can feed someone. Cutting waste means more people nourished, lower emissions and stronger food systems.  This #WorldFoodDay, that is what innovation is for.  #StopFoodLossAndWaste Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow.

COP17 produced a set of initiatives and financial commitments to speed up action on land restoration and drought resilience. Across both the negotiated outcomes and the Action Agenda, Ulaanbaatar brought together key drivers of implementation: political direction, science, finance, investment-ready projects, partnerships and stronger participation by those who manage the world’s land. @OurPlanetToo @CR_INDSA @Mahabahu1980 @Accmsociety @CANSouthAsia @UNCCD @Cop17Mongolia mahabahu.com/unccd-cop17-clo… – at Senchoa Gaon, India

Healthy food starts with healthy soil. Today at #UNCCDCOP17 in Mongolia, food systems and soil health are taking centre stage. Soil is much more than the ground beneath our feet. Healthy soils support biodiversity, store and regulate water, sustain agricultural productivity and help farming systems become more resilient to a changing climate. But agriculture also has a huge influence on the health of our land. The opportunity is to make it part of the solution, restoring soil health, protecting biodiversity and building food systems that can sustain both people and nature. We asked our soil expert Elodie Champseix why getting this relationship right matters. Watch what she had to say. #SoilHealth #SustainableAgriculture #FoodSystems #LandRestoration
