Jay, while I agree with you on many issues, particularly Canadian politics and economics, I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with your framing of Ukraine 🇺🇦💔.
LET ME MAKE A FEW THINGS VERY CLEAR.
1. THERE ARE NO TWO EQUAL SIDES HERE.
LET THAT SINK INTO YOUR BRAINS.
Every day, Ukrainian civilians are being killed. Just yesterday, reports described entire families, children, parents and grandparents, killed while sleeping as their homes were destroyed.
We are not talking about two sides playing some geopolitical game. We are talking about RUSSIAN AGGRESSION against a country that was invaded.
2. IMAGINE SOMEONE ENTERING YOUR HOME WITHOUT EVEN KNOCKING.
They murder your family, steal your children, occupy your home and take your land.
Would you then accept someone describing the situation as two sides applying pressure?
3. FORGET ZELENSKYY FOR A MOMENT.
Anyone standing in his position would face enormous scrutiny.
I strongly disagree with Trump’s approach to Ukraine, but this is not about Trump or Zelenskyy.
THIS IS ABOUT THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE AND THEIR RIGHT TO LIVE ON THEIR OWN LAND WITHOUT BEING TERRORIZED.
4. AND NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT POLAND.
I am deeply concerned about far-right Polish nationalist voices expressing territorial ambitions toward WESTERN UKRAINE.
Are we witnessing renewed ambitions to take Ukrainian territory from the Polish side? Is this part of why certain political voices have suddenly changed their tune?
These questions deserve serious scrutiny.
5. AND LET ME REMIND YOU OF SOMETHING ABOUT POLAND’S HISTORY.
After World War II, Jewish survivors returned from concentration camps only to discover that their homes and apartments had been occupied.
Many faced hostility, violence and murder instead of having their property returned.
Postwar antisemitic violence in Poland claimed the lives of hundreds, and some historical estimates reach approximately 1200 or more Jewish victims.
Think about that. Jews survived the Holocaust, returned home, and were murdered by people in the very communities where they had once lived.
6. MY MESSAGE TO EVERYONE READING THIS IS SIMPLE.
Before repeating political narratives, before defending powerful leaders, before turning human suffering into another ideological argument, THINK.
Imagine your own children, your parents, your grandparents being murdered in their sleep.
Imagine losing your home, your country and everything you have built.
BE A HUMAN BEING FIRST, BEFORE ALLOWING YOURSELF TO BECOME PART OF SOMEONE ELSE’S POLITICAL MANIPULATION.

But just the latest reminder that both sides are playing energy as a pressure tool.

I find this behaviour from a sitting Canadian Member of Parliament deeply disturbing.
Since when has it become acceptable for an elected official to publicly disrespect another official, even apparently mocking his surname?
This is not the Canadian standard of dignity, respect and professionalism I grew up believing in.
What kind of mentality allows someone entrusted with public office to behave this way?
I am calling for a formal review of this conduct and appropriate consequences. Public office demands accountability.
