Students got to attend a virtual author event with @kwamealexander for #NationalPoetryMonth today! We learned the 3 Rs for poetry: Rhyme rhythm & repetition (And that @ToniBlackman can freestyle at will!) One newly self described READER started writing before the lights came up😍
Okay y'all. These sweet babies are finishing up middle school in the next few weeks. I know most of them are still big readers and good friends. #Icanteven

Our #ProjectLitComm book club is starting Black Birds in the Sky by @brandycolbert. We’re about to learn the erased history of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. I underestimated how many more staff and students would join us this month! I’ve been handing them out like candy.
I’m excited to share these new dual language books with my students and staff @FultonHigh
Our #projectlit book club keeps growing. Both big readers and students who just want “get into” reading loved Anatomy by Dana Schwartz.
We had an amazing time with the one and only @JerryCraft learning to illustrate! Our students in digital design, African American Lit, creative writing, and @FultonComics loved every minute! Thanks for making it happen, @knoxreads @ccyal @FriendsofKCPL and @865academies ❤️ – at Knoxville, TN

We’re making bracelets in the library to wear what we’re thankful for. So far students and staff have been thankful for @fultonhosa, @FultonHigh tutoring, and @WKCSradio. What are you thankful for?
Our #projectlitcomm book club discussed The Cost of Knowing by @BrittneyMMorris this morning while munching on Isaiah’s favorite cereal @LuckyCharms — because his time is running out! Students are so into this book & luckily they each get to keep it. Link to sponsor books in bio – at Knoxville, TN
Please help our #projectlitcommunity #bookclub by sponsoring a student’s books for the semester for $30. #personallibrary ftw! – at Knoxville, TN
