Role of POCUS diagnosing severe Dengue
• Early identification of patients with severe dengue is essential for prompt medical intervention, leading to reduced mortality and complications.
• POCUS should be included as part of a multi-modal assessment tool (i.e. clinical + serial lab investigation) in evaluating patients with dengue illness.
• It can help detect early plasma leakage, a hallmark of severe dengue and guide fluid management.
