We are delighted to launch this during Women’s history month! Back in 2018 we started a participatory drawing and thanks to @ace_national #acesupported & a bunch of fantastic creatives we have created the interactive online Pageant on Paper: pageantonpaper.co.uk
Graphic image of an open laptop against a pink and lilac background. On the laptop screen we see the open pages of the digital artwork 'Pageant On Paper' - a huge drawing of hundreds of women. Text around the image reads 'We are delighted to announce our online interactive artwork is live!' www.pageantonpaper.co.uk

"Cleopatra" by Artemisia Gentileschi, circa 1620. This painting depicts the death of Cleopatra as she put a snake to her breast. This painting is held in a private collection.
Painting of a nude white woman seated with a red cloth obscuring her vulva. The background is dark. One hand is raised, holding a snake to her breast.

Today's snapshot had to be of #VitaSackvilleWest, Happy Birthday, Vita! 'Few have so beautifully caught the beauty of the English landscape on the page. Powerful and fragile, she is an enigma we long to solve.' Find her on the pageant - link in bio!
Image shows a close up from a huge drawing of hundreds of women. In this particular close up we see a lovely delicate ink drawing of the writer and poet and gardener Vita Sackville-West. It is of her as an older woman, with a gardening tool in hand. To the right is another ink drawing, this one of Victoria Wood. What a lovely pairing.

Let’s create a thread of women from history we think more people should know about. We will start: Mary Anning - amazing nineteenth century fossil collector and palaeontologist👍 Image: WikiCommons #WHM23 #InternationalWomensDay2023

Text on image reads: 'as part of our funding promise we have developed an educational pack to download for free. Visit our website, Click link in bio. Image in centre is of a mobile phone and on the screen is the 'schools' page of our website.

Polis is one of the wonderful writers we hired - bringing poetry and wit to the short captions on the pageant. Go read his work on pageantonpaper.co.uk and then go and buy one of his THREE published novels.

Just added the link to the drawing to our Twitter bio, which felt like quite a moment! Going to celebrate with a fresh cup of tea and a slice of toast.
