back in 2019, early in my career, i had very little savings 💰 but i decided to take a leap of faith and go all in to attend my first seo conference overseas. i figured out everything on my own, from visa applications to budget flights and affordable hostels. i spent less than $1,200 to attend brightonseo UK, my first-ever international seo conference from india 🇮🇳✈️🇬🇧 that one trip completely changed the trajectory of my SEO career 🚀 since then, i have attended 6 global SEO conferences across the UK, USA, and Singapore and even had the honour of speaking at brightonSEO UK in october 2022 🎤 ever since, i have been getting DMs every month like: → how do you plan your trips? → how do you get visas? → how do you manage expenses? → how do you partner with brands? so this saturday at 12 pm ist, i am hosting a free webinar to answer all of these questions. no fluff, no theory, just the real steps that worked for me (and the mistakes that taught me the most). 🎟 register here - topmate.io/parthsuba77/17885… if you have ever dreamed of attending an international SEO conference but didn’t know where to start, this one’s for you. by the end of the session, you will know how to: → save up to $1,000 when you attend your first seo conference → plan smarter, travel lighter, and make your trip career-changing the webinar is sponsored by Topmate

The platforms I'd bet on for search visibility in 2027: • @Reddit • @YouTube • @LinkedIn • @G2dotcom • @Capterra • @TrustRadius • Industry listicles • Trade publications • Analyst coverage • Podcasts • @Substack • @X • @Quora • @ProductHunt • App marketplaces • @github • @StackOverflow • @Wikipedia (earned, never edited) • Your own site Show up wherever you can be genuinely useful. The goal: to take up as many of the top 10-20 results as you can. Not just to rank your own content, but to get crawled and cited by AI Overviews and LLMs for the long-tail questions your buyers ask. The more of those results you earn, the more likely AI pulls you into the answer. Earning a spot on the platforms your buyers already trust is the highest-ROI SEO move for most B2B companies right now.

Today, we (Ahrefs) are releasing a preview of DR4: a new Domain Rating model for scoring backlink profiles. Your own DR may change, so we're sharing two ways you can check before it rolls out on December 1st. The two main changes: 1. Subdomains now have their own rating, so our help desk (DR 75) is scored differently than our root domain (DR 92) 2. The pool of domains impacting DR has essentially halved, to ~132M. In our testing, DR4's correlation with Google rankings across all hosts is more than 2.5x stronger than our current model. We've been analyzing the data for weeks and have already had some great outside feedback, but I'm sure there will be more. That's why I'm opening up a direct feedback form for a short period of time. I'll go through all of the comments myself and pass on what I see with the rest of the team. We're pretty excited about finally sharing this with more people. 🙏 Link in the first reply

If you couldn't make it to Tech SEO Connect in person, you can still see all the amazing content on the free Livestream. Sign up at techseoconnect.com/ What you miss by not being here is all the amazing food, experiences, and conversations. Last night we had welcome drinks in a 1930s art deco bar, amazing tapas and more drinks (always including non-alcoholic) at another local restaurant, and we had @VeryWellVersed rapping at another local venue after that. That was the welcome night. I'll share more about day 1 of the conference soon, but I will confidently say we are the first conference to put a bar in a historic train car.

Your AI SEO plan starts in Search Console. Use 13 steps to get started👇 1. Open Google Search Console and go to Performance → Search results. 2. Click "+ Add filter" → "Query" → "Custom (regex)" → "Matches regex," and paste this in: \b(best|top|vs|versus|alternatives?|reviews?|pricing|price|cost|compare|comparison|software|tools?|services?|agency)\b Don't worry about what it means. It keeps only the searches from people comparing, pricing, or shopping. The ones closest to buying. 3. Set the date range to the last 3 months and turn on all 4 metrics: Clicks, Impressions, CTR, and Average position. 4. Hit Export → Google Sheets. Open the “Queries” tab, freeze row 1, and sort the “Position” column from smallest to largest. 5. Now look at everything ranking between positions 4 and 20. This is your goldmine. Google already thinks your page is relevant for these searches. You're just sitting right below the spot where clicks fall off a cliff. 6. Download the “Queries” tab as a CSV and upload it to Claude: "This is my Search Console query data. Columns: Top queries, Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Position. Find every query ranking 4 to 20, rank them by impressions and closeness to position 3, and flag high-impression queries with low CTR. Give me the top 10 as a simple list." 7. For each one, click the query in Search Console and open the "Pages" tab to see which page ranks. Then Google it in incognito and note the 3 pages above you. 8. Back to Claude: "For the search '[QUERY],' my page is [URL]. The top 3 results are [URL 1], [URL 2], and [URL 3]. What do they do better for this search intent? Order them by what's most likely to improve my ranking." 9. Fix your pages: → Match the search intent in your title and H1 → Rewrite titles and meta descriptions for low-CTR queries → Cover what the top 3 cover, then go one step deeper → Add examples, data, comparison tables, and real pricing → Link to the page from your other relevant pages → No page for a buyer query? Build one 10. Give every page one clear next step: → "Best X" / "alternatives" → "Get a tailored recommendation" → "Pricing" / "cost" → "Book a pricing call" → "vs" / "versus" → "See which option fits your team" → "Services" / "agency" → an audit or consultation CTA 11. Paste each updated URL into Search Console's URL Inspection tool and click "Request indexing." 12. Check weekly with the same filter, comparing the last 7 days to the previous 7. 13. And be patient. Give each fix 2–4 weeks before you judge it. PS: I've put all of this into a one-page playbook, with the prompts and a full checklist included. Reply "SEO" & I'll send it over.

One hour to today's conversation on #SEOTalk Spaces. Reddit SEO is dead? The data tells a different story. An SE Ranking study of 100K keywords found Reddit's top 3 Google visibility grew from 8.56% to 10.24% after the May 2026 core update. Yet SISTRIX reports Reddit's overall search visibility is down from its October 2025 peak. So, is Reddit SEO growing or losing momentum? Join us on #SEOTalk Spaces tonight at 9:30 PM IST as we separate the data from the hype along with our hosts @parthsuba77, @MalharBarai #RedditSEO #SEO

In the latest Growth Memo, I found that AI referral traffic grows rapidly: 5.6x in the US and 6.4x in France over the last 2 years. HOWEVER. However. It's still just a drop in the bucket. We're at 0.5% of total traffic in the US and France (across 10k domains each). Even with much better conversion rates, that's tiny. Even if AI traffic doubles again over the next 2 years, it would make up only 2.8% of total traffic in the US and 3.7% in France. I think AI traffic is a Red Herring. What matters much more is exposure: how often are you recommended in the way you want to be?

On brand searches, AI Overviews give the brand's own website twice the room it gets on page one. In the US, brand sites make up 17% of the organic top 10 and 33.8% of AI Overview citations. In Germany, it's 20.6% and 41.2%. So the summary at the top of your brand SERP leans on your own site more than your rankings do. If your About, product or support pages are thin or outdated, that's what Google has to work with. More room doesn't mean more control. Two-thirds of the citations still come from other sites. The full study has the data by industry, company size and country 👇 visible.seranking.com/blog/a… ⚡ SE Visible by SE Ranking is the AI visibility platform — where, how often and in what tone AI answers mention your brand, with the competitive context to act on it.

Most SEOs have never looked at their server logs. We’re all talking about AI visibility, LLM citations and whether AI systems are using our content. But how many of us actually know which AI bots are visiting our websites? Google Search Console, analytics and third-party crawlers are useful, but none gives you the complete picture of requests hitting your infrastructure. Server and CDN logs show you which URLs were requested, by which user-agents, when, and what response they received. And with streaming, you can see that activity within seconds. Some of the things worth looking at: AI and LLMs • Which pages GPTBot, ClaudeBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers are requesting, and how often. • The difference between AI training crawlers, search crawlers and user-triggered fetches. They’re not all doing the same thing. • Whether AI crawlers are being blocked, rate-limited or receiving 403s, 429s and 5xx errors. • Which AI bots are genuine and which are scrapers pretending to be recognised crawlers. • Which sections of your website AI crawlers visit most, and which important pages they haven’t requested. • How AI crawler activity changes over time, particularly after publishing new content or making technical changes. • How AI crawler activity compares with actual referral traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity and other assistants. Traditional technical #SEO • Which important pages Googlebot is crawling, how frequently it returns and how quickly it discovers new content. • Where crawl activity is being wasted on parameters, faceted navigation, redirects and low-value URLs. • Pages Googlebot keeps requesting but Google hasn’t indexed, or indexed pages it hasn’t revisited. • Intermittent 404s, 5xx errors and unexpected redirects that regular website crawls might miss. • Whether Googlebot is discovering new URLs and following the correct redirects after a migration or release. • Slow response times, rate limiting and other issues affecting search engine crawlers. • Orphan pages that bots continue requesting despite no longer being linked internally. • Broken external links that people are actually clicking, only to land on a 404. Of course, an AI crawler requesting a page doesn’t mean the content was used for training or cited in an AI answer. But at least you know what the bots are actually doing, rather than guessing. Most websites have access to valuable first-party data that rarely gets looked at. @saliencecom
