What this first half has shown is that #boro need to pray that Lankshear can be available for all 46 league games because without him we're fooked, no genuine alternative at centre forward.

Hellberg has got his #boro set up all wrong for this game, don't need Ayling, Malander, Phillips and Borges all on the pitch, it's left us over whelmed in midfield & our attack is solely ACD, Joseph, Conway, McGree all anonymous. We can't keep relying on 2nd half come backs.

Rank 1st half from #Boro no urgency, lacklustre passing and shoddy at the back again. Conway one of many who has had zero impact. Perfect away performance by #Millwall who have been clinical in both boxes & shown why that is more important than pointless possession.

#boro getting exactly what we deserve, we've been shocking second half. When will we learn that a game is 90 minutes long, not 45. I wouldn't be surprised to see Norwich go on and win this now.

Does anyone go from the sublime to the ridiculous in the same passage of play as many times in a game as Tommy Conway does for #boro ?

Think #boro will have to refer to Malanda as Schrodingers midfielder - he is simultaneously shite and mint man when played in midfield. My own view is I think he's useful stepping into midfield from a back three, but can slow us down when played as an out and out midfielder.
Getting whiplash this morning from the various tweets saying how good Malanda is in midfield and the ones saying how bad he is. #utb #boro

I've been thinking, ever since Burnham became PM, that this would be the route he'd choose. Which was cemented recently by the strong receipts we had from CGT over the last tax year. I think O'Neill is right, and it's worth spelling out why this option "looms." It isn't because it's good policy, it's because it's the last door they haven't nailed shut themselves. They can't reform welfare, because there will be a backbench rebellion. They won't touch the triple lock, because the electoral arithmetic makes it difficult. They ruled out the three big taxes in the manifesto, which are the only ones that can really move the needle on yet another "black hole." So the path of least resistance takes them, almost mechanically, to capital gains. Because it's the biggest option left, and they'll say there's a moral case underpinning their decision, which they'll attempt to sell hard to the public. But take a look at the economy they'd be doing this to. Britain has sat at or near the bottom of the G7 for business investment for most of the last 30 years. We are a country desperately short of exactly the things capital gains tax falls on. Risk taking, business formation, people backing an idea with their own money and their own years. And those strong receipts we saw recently? CGT brought in around £22bn last year, up 62%, and still only around 2% of total receipts. But look at why… disposals pulled forward ahead of rate rises, allowance cuts, and reliefs being wound down. Landlords selling before the Renters' Rights Act. Owners selling before BADR rates went up. This isn’t a stable tax base that suggests bumper tax receipts in the future, it’s people getting out of investments now before they get hammered. CGT is the most behaviourally sensitive tax we have, because if you equalise it with income tax, people don't queue up to pay 45% on years or decades of risk. They'll defer the sale, they'll restructure, or they'll leave. My prediction, if they raise CGT, is that the revenue received will severely underperform, but the real damage will be the signal they put out there… this is not a country that rewards effort and risk-taking. And that's the real cost… the founder who doesn't start, the investor who allocates elsewhere, and the quiet mental recalibration of what trying is actually worth in this country. As Laffer puts it, if you tax something, you get less of it. Tax investment heavily and you'll get less investment. In my view, this is one of the most dangerous paths the government could take when it comes to taxation. Sadly, it's the one I think they'll take. If this is what happens in the next budget, Burnham will need to be pushed hard on what the vision for this country is. Because if you tax investment punitively, you've got to wonder what the future here looks like. So what’s the vision? What’s the payoff? What amazing change will this deliver the country? Because right now, to me, it looks like Labour keep painting themselves into a corner where the only solution they have is major tax hikes every budget. To say I'm concerned would be a massive understatement.

Callum Brittain letting his man have all the time in the world on the edge of the box and Ayling watching the ball rather than the centre forward 😞 #boro defending this season has been shocking

Starting to think that @louorns has a point about the #boro signings. Hellberg's style needs technical players that can unpick a defence, our signings have been more in the athletic mould but who struggle to threaten the ball through in the final third. Heavily reliant on McGree.

Is he wearing the #boro third kit because there's no home or away kits left, no fresh ones on order until October, and we didn't even keep any back for new signing?
We’re delighted to announce the signing of Sam Byram on a permanent transfer. Welcome to Boro, Sam 🫡

Marketing idea for @Boro our own version of Where's Wally, Where's Whittaker. 46 pages, 1 for each Championship game, can you spot where on the pitch Whittaker in his full red Boro kit is hiding this week, the perfect gift for any #Boro fan.

Whittaker having one of those is he even on the pitch games for #boro I'd bring Sarmiento and Arfsten on for him and Castledine, who hasn't done much either.

As a #Boro fan, I hope exclusion from the play-off final doesn't happen. It wouldn't feel like an achievement, we should earn it on the pitch & although it's wrong it clearly had no bearing on how the first leg went. Also means the 2 legs were a waste of fans time, money & effort
NEW: Southampton likely to face sporting sanction such as being excluded from play-off final or points deduction next season if found guilty of spygate. thetimes.com/sport/football/…

Replying to @BBCTeesSport
@BBCTeesSport Huge missed opportunity for #Boro Conway missing the big chances when it matters again, how many games has he cost us this season, & no quality off the bench to change the game. It's not luck, we knew all this & the club chose not to act in January.

Massive game on Tuesday now so let's hope our good away record works again.

Conway should have two for #Boro already, all the ball but not taking some really clear chances, starting to feel a little familiar...

Conway has to hit it first time there, on his right foot as well, let's hope his hesitancy in front of goal doesn't cost #Boro again

Sterlec a little fortunate for that #Boro second goal but he did his bit by getting in the 6 yard box (which Conway rarely does) and for once we played the ball to him. Good to see Whittaker being confident enough to use his right foot.
