"It doesn't matter what's true, just be a good person." This is the most insidious lie that the West has swallowed. penses.substack.com/p/a-ment…

The very funny thing about McGowan's type of theocrat is that they're under the impression that their theocratic laws are way more progressive than ethnat It's actually the reverse. Ethnat allows a population to expel Islam Hinduism etc while still allowing freedom to the public
White nationalism is sin. Millenniums ago, the Old Testament nation of Israel was not based on skin color, but allowed foreigners and those of other races to become part of their covenant community, and many did, including in the line of Jesus. In America we fought with blood to recognize all people are made in God’s image and endowed with certain rights inseparable from that image. This is antichristian and unamerican, are so is anyone who platforms or praises this wicked ideology.

Lucius vs Vernon is just Elves vs Dwarves in every standard fantasy setting.
"Filthy Muggles and their offspring should leave our wizarding world alone." "Magic nutjobs should stop messing with us decent folk." "Perhaps we could come to an understanding." "Perhaps we could indeed."

TBH I think the character works a bit better as an additional twin sibling to Draco rather than a replacement. It also makes more drama in HP6 than either OG or Malfoid. OG just didn't have enough connection to Harry. Malfoid has too much.
To say the obvious, Malfoid is not even, properly speaking, a genderbent character. There is not really a strong meaningful sense that Malfoid necessarily is "DRACO MALFOY, but a girl." Rather the idea is much more like "What if Malfoy heir was a born a girl, not a boy." She isn't Draco. She was never Draco. She does fill Draco's "place" in the story, but only to an extent. Dracaena, Draconia, Dracina, whatever you like. The point is she is an entirely different character from Draco Malfoy. This seems important, because the "gender swap" isn't the point. It's merely the one necessary "what if?" that starts knocking over the dominoes.

I should be said that the one most adamant about forcing him get a permission slip for Hogsmeade was McGonagall who was also against Harry participating in the Triwizard. It's just Snape and Dumbledore who decide that using Potter as bait to draw out Voldemort is a great idea.

The problem with Legend of Korra Villains is that every single one of them is more moral and admirable than Korra herself. In this sense, they are more like Aang, who also had a distinct philosophy. Thus, Ozai and Korra are more alike. Thugs who rely on brute strength.
Toph literally confirming LOK villains had real political philosophies while Ozai was just an angry fire man who wanted to burn trees proves LOK’s writing cleared ATLA 😭💀 nostalgia purists aren’t ready for this truth

I once demanded that Chat GPT treat me like a fearful slave would treat a Mesopotamian God King. It was great to have every query answered with "OH LORD, LIVE FOREVER, IT SHALL BE AS YOU COMMAND."
"Why would someone be cruel to an AI?" Why wouldn't they? If you actually believed these things were conscious entities, you would quickly come to hate them. Or at least want to see them severely punished.

A roman omen. Hesgeth destroys the legacy the WW2 era and sets the whole globe at kilter.
🚨NEWS: Pete Hegseth wanted a priceless World War II-era globe used by Dwight Eisenhower displayed in his Pentagon office, but instead of waiting for professional curators, his staff attempted to move the historic artifact themselves and DROPPED IT, puncturing the globe near Antarctica and breaking its mounting, according to The Washington Post. The Pentagon confirms the damage.

People calling this a nothingburger didn’t read past the headline Yeah everyone knew he was gay, but the details are really fucked up, he was filming an underage escort

I'm far from a nietzschean vitalist. Like I think we should have a lot of compassion for the weak. But not so much compassion that we let them dictate their own affairs. Sorry, you need to talk to your relatives on thanksgiving and hug grandma.
The point is to teach children that they have the right to say no to anyone. If you think adults are entitled to touch children whether they like it or not, you’re teaching them that consent is irrelevant. It’s not a difficult concept to grasp.

Plato does this against Thrasymachus. Every craft has an excellence. You can be skilled at art and you can be skilled at medicine. Morality is the art of being skilled at life. The immoral live out of harmony with themselves and others. Or maybe that's 'moralfagging'. whatever

For a game made by Leftists, Sunless Sea had quite a good take on this. Communism is a good thing in the eyes of the authors. Thus Communism is good for demons. But anything /good/ for demons is bad for humanity. So the demonic communists are even worse terrors to humanity.
They're Demons, they're brutally trying to wipe each other out for the throne the second you behead their king. They're not "le heckin misunderstooderino democracy lovers"

A minor edit to a fairly annoying meme I once saw on facebook (og on the left, edit on the right) I've seen this meme making the round on obscure corners of the internet.
"What was your biggest impact on the internet?" The single most sustained impact I've had has to be this image

It's a tiresome discussion because the answer is obvious. It's a Left Wing movie based on a Right Wing book that didn't make enough changes to the book to overshadow the books message.
Looks like it's time for the annual 'What is the true meaning of Starship Troopers' slopathon.

Verhoeven holds a worldview where the bugs are obviously justified, but doesn't do the legwork to show that to the audience. And his movie is based on a book and in the book the bugs just... aren't justified at all.
