Sic'em. While I did not know this story it seems consistent with my recollection of their being dogs in Waco needing a good home during my time at Baylor.
I want to share a little story about @KenPaxtonTX that nobody else knows.
Back in 2014, our daughter Kaitlyn was a freshman at Baylor University, along with Ken’s youngest daughter, Abby.
Apparently, Kaitlyn had decided her freshman year should include a side career in rescuing stray dogs. 😂
After finding yet another dog that needed a home, she called and asked me to drive to Waco to pick it up.
I told her, “Kaitlyn, you’re going to have to find somebody else’s parent this time. I cannot keep driving to Waco collecting stray dogs!”
A little while later, she called back and said, “It’s okay, Mom. Abby’s dad will take him.”
Abby’s dad was Ken Paxton.
And sure enough, Ken drove to Waco, picked up that black Lab, took him home, and made him part of their family.
I’ve remembered that story for more than a decade because I’ve always believed the little things tell you an awful lot about someone’s character.
There were no cameras, no reporters, and no political points to be scored. Just a daughter who called her dad because a dog needed a home.
And her dad showed up.
I’ve watched Ken Paxton fight for Texas as our Attorney General, taking on powerful interests and standing firm in battles that weren’t always easy or popular. His record is unmatched by any other AG nationwide.
But long before I knew much about his political record, I got a little glimpse of the man behind the title. And sometimes, those are the stories that tell you the most about a person.
I’m exceptionally proud to support Ken Paxton, and I know he will make an outstanding Senator for Texas. Because Texas doesn’t need another politician who knows how to win an election. We need a fighter who knows how to stand his ground when it matters most.
What are or should be the absolutely non-negotiables for a Christian man considering who to marry?
1. Must be a Christian.
2. Must female.
3. Must not be presently married.
4. Must be of sufficient mental compacity and age to consent to marry.
What else?
Was very happy to vote today and to talk to @mikefor35 . I want to encourage people who live in our district to vote for Rep Mike Schietzelt.
He ran last time on raising starting teacher pay & delivered. He is working to help get a hospital by addressing certificate of need laws.

Where does Whatley stand on Flock?
“You don’t leave your Fourth Amendment rights at home when you get in your car and head to work or the store.”
That’s what Michael Whatley said when I asked him about Flock cameras.
“Clear guidelines and protections have to be in place. There’s already litigation around this.”
A lot of us have been saying the same thing. Whatley could’ve pulled a Cooper and avoided the tough questions.
He didn’t.
Full interview is on the podcast if you want the whole conversation. 💙👑

Sometimes mathematics pick problems not only because we think the answer to those problems are important but because we think it will help us learn or illustrate valuable techniques or advance a particular area. If AI proves theorems another way it may not accomplish the goal.
Scripture is the standard. We are to apply it regardless of whether or not we like the outcome. It appears the direct application of this passage is to kill the tiger that killed a man.

If they couldn’t take the shot safely, sure, I can understand that. But people saying a human being should be allowed to die to preserve the life of an animal are not just morally myopic, they are totally blind.
A human being is an eternal soul. An animal isn’t. Unless you’re in some sort of movie situation, where the animal is your method of self-defense, you always kill the animal to save the human being if you can. Always.
Some to consider.
I’m starting to get increasingly uncomfortable with the economics of AI as it is currently happening
It seems fundamentally wrong that a small number of people with access to a huge amounts of VC money can vacuum up all the contributions of humanity, often paying nothing for it, then turn around and get enormously rich while the many people who put all the work into creating the training data get nothing
I am generally pro-AI, but the way it is happening is seeming increasingly parasitic to me
The public executions in the US with massive audiences seem to go back at to least the revolutionary war and execution of Thomas Hickey in June 1776. One can argue this problematic, but it is very American to have the public military execution of a service member.
Like other potential nominees Vance should have to convince GOP primary voters that he should be the nominee. His actions on H1-B visas will likely help him with a considerable portion of the base and also with many men (some of whom are not solid commited voters).

Vice President Vance is spot on.
Americans were told we needed H-1Bs to bring in the “best and brightest.”
The program has become a pipeline for cheap, dependent foreign labor at the expense of American workers. 🧵

Vice President JD Vance on H1-B visas:
"If you’re going to bring in an accountant making $45,000 a year to replace an accountant who is an American making $60,000 a year, that’s not you using the program to bring in a genius. That’s you destroying American jobs and defrauding the American people... my view is the H1-B program is completely broken."
Instead of fighting about AI or SI. Perhaps we can focus on specific automation. Not AGI, but software that helps with particular tasks. Spell checkers, IntelliSense, and search engines were great tools before the popular AI push. Many other specific tasks can be automated.
Software does not have a soul and is not made in the image of God. But it is a tool man can use to help take dominion over the earth. However, we are to serve God and software serve us not us serve software. blueletterbible.org/kjv/1co/…
Scripture is the final authority on all issues including whether we should support Isreal. Baptists will not always agree on how to apply Scripture. “God alone is Lord of the conscience” we will not always agree on how to apply Scripture to government and international relations.
@WilliamWolfe directly mentioning this freedom of conscience among Baptists and indicating that additional arguments for supporting Isreal could be prudentially helpful might have better received than appearing to indicate an appeal to Scripture was insufficient in this case.
Vote for Mike Schietzelt for NC house.
I would say the future is uncertain but there is a great likelihood that there will be one or more vacancies and that having a GOP senator to vote on replacements is likely to be far better than having Cooper vote on them.
There is no doubt that in the next 6 years there will be one or more Supreme Court Justices who will retire - and NC needs to have a CONSERVATIVE Senator voting on their replacements.
Roy Cooper has appointed radical leftists as judges and magistrates. You know he will vote exactly the same if he is in the Senate.
We need a conservative champion like @WhatleyNC to protect our country from the chaos liberal judges would unleash.
