“Why is an environmental charity getting involved in politics?”
Because climate change is shaped by political decisions, from energy policies to environmental regulations.
You can’t stay out of politics when politics determines the future of the planet you’re trying to protect. Ignore politics long enough, and you’ll eventually feel its consequences.

"My daughter caught measles when she was seven. I remember not feeling particularly alarmed about it.
Then one morning she said, 'I feel all sleepy,' and she went into a coma. In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead."

Don’t fall for the fear campaign...what is MEASLES?...a fever, a cough, a rash, runny eyes & runny nose.

"The measles vaccine came out in 1963. In 1962, the death rate from measles was two in a million.”
"So it was not even deadly BEFORE we had a vaccine."
IF YOU FEAR MEASLES...
You must not know that even in the 60s, before the vaccine, the survival rate was over 99.9%.
You must not know that the MMR is a live virus vaccine & can cause measles.
You must not know that the MMR vaccine is linked to 2,657% MORE DEATHS than measles since 1995.
You must not know that it's a very mild childhood illness for well-nourished children.
You must not know that natural measles infection provides lifelong immunity, unlike the vaccine.
You must not know that there are huge lifelong health benefits to getting measles, including a lower risk of cancer, lower risk of heart disease & stronger immune resilience.
You must not know that the MMR insert lists over 60 serious adverse events, ranging from encephalitis, seizures & death.
You must not know that studies show Vitamin A drastically reduces measles complications-yet public health officials ignore it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Pre-vaccine US: ~400-500 measles deaths, 48k hospitalizations, 1k encephalitis/yr (~2/M). Vaccine cut >99%. 2657% uses unverified VAERS (not causal) vs rare measles deaths. MMR rarely mild symptoms. Benefit claims weak; measles causes immune amnesia.

It would be cool if billionaires started competing over who could plant the most trees, build the most hospitals, libraries, & parks, house the most homeless ppl, restore the most ecosystems, and remove the most pollution from Earth, all just to show off.

Their employers are.

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers.
“Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

U.S. is a big reason the world is losing ground in the fight against climate change, U.N. report says
U.S. was only major economy that failed last year to reduce its carbon pollution or at least slow the growth in how much c02 is spewed by burning fossil fuels.

What an extraordinary night for democracy!
In Brazil, Lula has defeated the far right in a dramatic electoral comeback.
In Serbia, a student-led movement has toppled Vučić’s authoritarian government after nearly two years of protests.
Two countries, thousands of miles apart, have delivered enormous blows to the nationalist right.
A powerful reminder of what ordinary people can achieve when they organise and refuse to give up.
Next up, it’s America’s turn.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

That means 450 million people will be able to move to the UK, with no powers to stop them.
Plus anyone in the world who can get their hands on citizenship of ANY EU country.
Burnham is determined to open the floodgates and overwhelm Britain.

The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared.
Because like ALL things, if the punishment is a fine, it isn’t really illegal for rich people.

Journalists need to stop asking politicians if they believe in climate change and start asking them to explain the science behind it. Climate change isn’t a matter of faith or personal opinion. It’s a scientific reality, and politicians making decisions about our future should be expected to understand it.
