Nine without a win, worst run since 1988, 17th and only above the drop zone on goal difference. Hard to argue for keeping him. #MUFC

One way of understanding how important Democratic control of the Senate for the next 2 years is, is thinking about SCOTUS. A GOP majority gives Trump free rein to confirm whoever he wants for any open seats. A Dem majority to act as a check is essential.

3 genuinely eye-popping things just 2 days out from the election…1. Texas early vote numbers (no we don’t know how everyone voted, but Latino vote numbers are wow), 2. Roger Marshall closing ad (summary: all that business about me going after former patients—it was the lawyers fault—vote for me!), 3. Hayley Stevens—who is advising her that everything she is doing incl going to church with Mike Rogers is the way (perhaps her fiance who is the villain guest star for this movie no one asked for)

Bullshit. The idea that Britain, a middle power, could thrive without alliances with like-minded neighbours was exceptionalist hubris, as the results of Brexit have amply demonstrated.

So many individual displays to admire yesterday, eg Ayari and Dunk immense after their penalty failures on Wednesday. But above it is collective quality and unity under a top coach that is making Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton such a force. #BHAFC

Another point of view. Sadly from someone without the courage to say who they are.
You’re an arsehole Paul. It’s not nonsense it’s the reality for many small business owners.

Mr @bradlander just said it all for me⬇️about Haley Stevens' hateful betrayal of @abdulelsayed, the Democrats, and anyone trying to fight against Trump's attacks on average Americans, the Constitution and democracy. I'd advise reading the whole thing.
I didn’t think it was possible to combine primary-loser-sour-grapes & Islamophobia into a more toxic cocktail than Andrew Cuomo. But Haley Stevens has managed to do it. If she wants to betray civil rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant protections, and working families by endorsing Mike Rogers and trying to give control of the Senate to J.D. Vance and Donald Trump, I guess that's her business — but it’s appalling, oddly patronizing, and simply false to claim that it’s in the interest of Michigan’s Jewish communities. Our safety comes from welcoming the stranger, fighting for universal human rights, and building pluralist democracy — not from endorsing neo-Nazi adjacent MAGA fanatics. Fortunately, there’s a powerful response of solidarity and shared safety, that every Jewish & non-Jewish Michigander can do on Tuesday: Vote for @AbdulElSayed

Come Wednesday, if Abdul wins I don’t want to hear a word from ANYONE about his margin and any “underperformance.” Between Haley’s fuckery, the $70 million spent against him in the primary, and the insanely racist attacks on him, an Abdul victory will be one of the most impressive feats in political history.

A lot of kudos going to Brighton by pundits and journalists at the moment. One thing I think that went under the radar, As well as beating City yesterday, we should have beaten them on Wednesday as well with a rotated side. Absolutely the better team, should have sealed it before penalties. Brentford will be such a significant game, win again, and the noise around Brighton will get even louder.

Texas is Lean D.
Lots of fancy Texas early vote analyses out there, but here's a simple fact: in the 23 counties that voted for any statewide federal Dem this decade, early votes cast are at 91% of '24 levels. In the other 231 all-GOP counties, early votes cast are at just 79% of '24 levels.

Mr Trump wavering on the edge of a terrible strategic mistake. The MidTerms may deliver a Democratic Congress in January. The US blockade has not collapsed the economy. 20,000 air sorties have not opened the Gulf. Trump now planning a three day renewed air war in November. It will be an escalation disaster.

Hopefully this continues until there is no more refining capacity left in Russia. So much for Putin’s attempt to get Trump to stop this with bluster
Continuing to burn throughout the day, Russia's 11 syllabled LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery - the 2nd largest gasoline producer in the country - now confirmed to be totally out of commission, having suffered precision strikes in its key processing units. With the US no longer standing in the way, Putin's oil industry is doomed.
