Agreed. It’s also one of the reasons why BTAS works so well. Heart of Ice and Feat OF Clay and Two- Face really shows how strong Batman’s villains really are in terms of storytelling.
I was curious how Clayface would work without Batman and honestly it was perfectly handled.
Also think that Batman’s villains are more interesting and structured perfectly with their tragic backstories.
Watched it for a second time. So good.
It’s one thing to watch someone become a monster, but another to feel everything that person is losing along the way. Tom Rhys Harries gives an astounding performance in Clayface, bringing an emotional weight to the horror in a way that feels incredibly personal. Happy anniversary to Matt Hagen, who debuted in DETECTIVE COMICS #298.

That nightclub scene was just incredible.
Clayface was brilliant. Loved the references to BTAS.
Tom’s performance as Hagen was so good.
Soundtrack was banging.
