Using pronouns may have helped this Dana White situation.

So here's what happened in today's Stupid Olympics. There are two people named Dana White. One is President and CEO of the UFC The other is Dana W. White, who served as the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense under Secretary James Mattis Their pictures are below. He's the white guy. She's the Black woman. I'll call them UFC Dana and DOD Dana to make it easier for you. Suzie Wiles, shortly before being replaced by Count Stephen Miller, advised Trump that his new Press Secretary should be Dana White. And Trump in all his finite wisdom, immediately assumed the UFC Dana, who has never done anything to prepare him for press secretary, and not DOD Dana, whose entire career has been in preparation for that. Now you might be saying, "Kelly, not everyone knows about DOD Dana. It's an honest mistake." But he's NOT just "everyone." He's the President of the United States. And this is a man whose administration has been firing Black people, women, trans people, and so on, insisting that none of them got their job based on merit. And then he's going to name someone completely unqualified to be Press Secretary because the President is a fan of the UFC. And he didn't even think to ask anyone. It never even occurred to him to ponder whether UFC Dana is the person he should pick as Press Secretary. Stupid and incurious are a dangerous combination, and this man is both of those things. And that got me to thinking about the two Dan Sullivan in Alaska. And I get it now. The man who is too stupid to know the difference between two Dana Whites thinks Alaskans are too stupid to know the difference between two Dan Sullivans.

Happy Four Seasons Total Landscaping day to all who celebrate
I could write jokes for 800 years and I'd never think of something funnier than Trump booking the Four Seasons for his big presser, and it turning out to be the Four Seasons Total Landscaping parking lot between a dildo store and a crematorium.

Trump was asked by the finally free press how it feels to be a loser and ran away faster than Stephen Miller at sunrise.

Worth remembering there was study that showed "traditional" men are far more misogynistic & hold trad wives with greater contempt.
Tradwives are fleeing the movement: ‘I can’t undo my past – but I can warn other women’ — In recent years, some of the most vocal tradwives have left their husbands, renounced their religious faith and promoted financial independence. What is behind this sudden and seismic shift? theguardian.com/lifeandstyle…

“This Is How the World Sees Israel Now.” In this episode of Palestine Deep Dive, Pulitzer Prize-winning American writer Benjamin Moser, author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, and Irish journalist and commentator Barry Malone join Ahmed Alnaouq for a wide-ranging discussion on Zionism, anti-Zionism, media complicity and the language shaping public debate around Israel and Palestine. Drawing on the history of Jewish opposition to Zionism, the conversation explores Britain’s role in the Zionist movement, the politics of antisemitism and the silencing of dissent. They also examine the Green Party’s recent adoption of its “Zionism is Racism” motion and the debate it has sparked. With Israeli elections bringing renewed attention to Benjamin Netanyahu, the discussion also addresses whether a change of prime minister would address the deeper questions of Palestinian self-determination and equal rights. @benjaminfmoser | @malonebarry | @AlnaouqA

If I didn’t love her before, I absolutely love Rachel @maddow now. That was perfection!
For anyone who missed it, this was one of my favorite moments. I wasn’t even watching until midnight so I’m glad I didn’t miss this!

This is both interesting and scary.

Now THIS is something that I think is a very, very good idea!
BREAKING: HOLY SMOKES! Democrats now control enough states to effectively abolish the Electoral College through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Republicans did NOT have this on their bingo cards... Under the Constitution, states control their electoral votes and are allowed to decide how they are allocated during presidential elections. Currently, almost every state gives its votes to whoever wins the state. In practice, the current system means that a candidate can win the national popular vote, but lose the election because small states like Wyoming exert undue influence on the outcome. That state has 3 electoral votes with a population of just 577,000 people. California has 54 electoral votes and a population of 39.5 million people. So a vote in Wyoming is essentially 3.8 times as valuable as one in California. Since 1992, Democrats have won the popular vote seven out of nine times. Under the NPV, states that join agree to give their electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote, not just their own state. So a state could go red on the map, but if the Democrat wins the national vote, they still get that state's votes. And vice versa of course. The crucial mechanism is that the compact doesn't trigger until the member states have a combined power of at least 270 electoral votes, the number needed to win the White House. So far, 18 states plus D.C. have joined, totaling 222 electoral votes. We only need 48 more. Now is the chance to pass this measure in every state possible. Democrats won both houses of the legislature in Wisconsin for the first time in 18 years (10 electoral votes). We won the Pennsylvania state Senate for the first time since 1993 (19 votes). We now have a trifecta in Michigan (15 votes). And we won the governor’s race in Nevada (6 votes). 10 + 19 + 15 + 6 = 50. 222 + 50 = 272. And if we hold our lead in the Arizona Senate, that number could climb as high as 283, more than enough to trigger the compact. In addition to removing an imbalance in our system that favors Republicans, this novel approach would fundamentally change how candidates run their presidential campaigns. Currently, they are incentivized to ignore most of the country. If you live in a “safe” state, red or blue, your vote for President is basically decided before you cast it. Campaigns spend their time and money in a handful of swing states while the rest of us watch from the sidelines. If the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is adopted, they'll have reason to hit every state because they're aiming to win the largest swath of the country as a whole, not just certain states. States have until July 20, 2028 to join the compact in time for the next presidential election. We can fix our democracy. The time is now. Please ❤️ and share if you support this idea!

"For no reason..."
Trump: "I think it would destroy the Democrat Party if they did that -- impeachment for no reason. What, for having a successful country? Our country is more successful right now than at any time in history. Watch the beam go up."

It’s way easier than that, Dan. Men can end abortion without making it illegal simply by choosing to ejaculate responsibly so they don’t cause any unwanted pregnancies. It’s as easy as condoms and vasectomies. Bonus: condoms also protect from STIs.
