NB-I mentioned the nomenclature of "life altering" in this post because "life altering" has been used many times by the police in their comms over the past week.
Obviously life altering and life threatening are not mutually exclusive terms, but if an attack was life threatening, then the suspects should be charged with attempted murder.
What I have observed is no charges for attempted murder in cases including the Bridle Path home invasion in which 3 of the victims were shot and two of the victims (one who had also been shot) had hammer attacks to the head.
Their injuries were also described as, "Life altering." It's notable to me because I don't see how these injuries wouldn't also be life threatening. Especially in the context of Canadian medical care.
From a legal perspective, I learned this week that Crown prosecutors choose to pursue charges for aggravated assault more often than attempted murder because it is far easier to secure a conviction for aggravated assault. But attempted murder has a significantly higher sentence than aggravated assault.
I believe that anyone who stomps on another person's head is attempting to murder them. I don't believe that this should be difficult to prove in a court of law, when there is videotape evidence, the victim has catastrophic injuries, and there were eye witnesses to the attack.
But Canadians stand for nothing and demand nothing, so here we are. We have pretty, sympathetic words, which amount to being worthless, and a legal system which facilitates psychopathy. At victim and taxpayer expense.
The 48-year-old woman who helped two boys badly beat a 59-year-old cadet supervisor has been identified in a breaking story by reporter Ling Hui of the Toronto Sun. The name of the woman is Estela Quintanilla of Hamilton.
The altercation arose when a 12-year-old male and his 11-year-old male friend assaulted two cadets who were handing out poppies for Remembrance Day with an air horn.
The cadets told their supervisor what had happened and he followed the aggressors into a restaurant to talk to them.
Quintanilla, who was a bystander, intervened in the discussion by pushing the victim to the ground, whereupon the twelve-year-old male stomped on the victim's head.
The cadet supervisor is badly injured. Hamilton Police have described the injuries as, "Life altering," which seems to be the new substitute for life threatening.
The eleven-year-old wasn't charged for his part in it. Our legal system seems to be hell-bent on facilitating violent offenders.
This Remembrance Day, remember all of the Canadian men who fought and died so that the rest of us could life in an anarcho-tyranny.

Here is what good people have to deal with today.
I visited a farm today East of Saskatoon along a highway. A farm I have frequented for 25 years. The grower does not live on site.
The farmer has been forced to setup a complex security and camera system, signs and warnings at every entrance and a guard dog.
Random people will drive into his yard at all hours, safe to assume they are scoping out the yard and theft has occurred.
This story is not uncommon with acreages and farms near the city.
I personally have seen garbage being dumped on random grid roads around the city. (I have a good story about that incident).
Every issue we face today is because we didn’t say no yesterday.
A correction is needed or this behaviour will only get worse.

In apology to @jk_rowling for this Canadian ridiculousness, I just ordered a box set of Harry Potter books for a family member from a BC store.

I want this result for every single adult who stole Halloween candy this year. The threat of being posted on @JustBins is the only thing keeping SK Halloween in check at this point.

New article is up! I wrote this because I am seeing a lot of doom posting about emergency preparedness and I know lots of people on here are struggling with feeding their families, nevermind building up a pantry. Here’s some hints and tips on how to build up an emergency stockpile of food and other items when you don’t have much money or space.

CBC quoted Lowan’s speech right up to the line that reveals the ideology—and then stopped
In their election-night write-up, CBC reported: “We may have a small caucus, but tonight we have inherited an enormous responsibility, and that is to hold a majority Conservative government to account.”
What she said next, according to the full transcript (and the video CBC itself posted):“We are the only party who is equipped to stand against the Conservatives and their existence.”
That is not “holding a government to account.” That is declaring the victorious party’s existence illegitimate. It is the language of elimination, not opposition
If a BC Conservative candidate had said the NDP or Greens needed to be opposed “and their existence,” it would have led every newscast, every panel, and every CBC segment for days. Instead, the line was edited out of the written coverage while the surrounding sentences were used to portray her as a responsible voice of accountability
This is not an oversight. CBC has the full speech on their website. They chose which sentences to quote and which to bury. Meanwhile, hosts and panels continue to treat the BC Conservatives as uniquely dangerous while soft-pedaling a 26-year-old party leader who just framed an entire party’s existence as the problem to be solved
Age is not a shield. “Movement building” is not a euphemism that erases the actual words. Selective quotation that stops one sentence before the most revealing line is not journalism—it is CBC narrative management
The video is on CBC’s own site. The transcript is public. The CBC omission is the story @brodiefenlon
Are woke BC people going to move to Saskatchewan and Alberta in protest of a new conservative government? That would be funny.
Don’t let them Idaho & Wyoming you with their California-style voting.
