God this country and everyone in it is objectively repulsive
I agree entirely, but beyond a boatload of empty hires assembling an inefficient & fundamentally inexperienced (yet hilariously top-heavy) organization, I haven't seen any movement on anything concrete from BCH. "Let's have another round table to talk about the issues!" Eff off.

How is that possibly what you’re drawing from this?
I know, but implicitly here you're saying both:
a) We need to construct this right now, and;
b) We need to finance said construction with debt.
The reality is these massive projects have no defined timeline & won't for some time. So the idea of bldg on debt *now* doesn't track.
I sure hope so! Council, more broadly, this term seems far more interested in things like that from a purely ideological perspective. Hope 'springs' eternal (wink wink nudge nudge).
I'd do that in a second, yes. Bring back the stormwater tax too. How did Brad vote on that one back in 2024 again?
Your claim is the province & feds are charging us interest for their share? & on those two projects, there is no developer on one, & Northcrest isn't currently doing anything except repurposing the hangers on the other, so you want CoT to borrow to construct their infrastructure?
You could have at least used current projects like Fairbank-Silverthorn or Black Creek Sanitary Trunk which combine municipal, provincial, and federal funding to create the capital stack, unless I missed the part where we just threw them (and others) on the old credit card?
I'm a bit confused by the question. Two 'broad strokes' masterplans with no defined timeline & no building-by-building project delivery plan (& no current take up if any of it were put on market today) need a financing plan which relies on debt and a 'start now' deadline?

"Funding" being: 'load the thing up with debt and kick the can down the road so I can cut taxes for home owners and look good in the short term'. Also, for all the denial that 'privatization isn't possible in Ontario', Doug has already taken care of that:
