Pretty cool! We used a very similar approach in @PromptOps a couple of months back, to prevent any irrelevant information used during QA. We definitely saw performance improvements after compression.
⭐️Contextual Compression⭐️
We introduce multiple new methods in @langchain to compress retrieved documents w.r.t. the query before passing to an LLM for generation

I totally agree! Evaluation has been a huge pain point and discussion while we were building @PromptOps. We started compiling a set of benchmark questions that helped us evaluate any updates to prompts.
👇Below are some tips:
We've consistently heard "evaluation" as one of the biggest pain points when building with LLMs
There's no silver bullet, but we're hosting a webinar with some experts to get their take on the matter:

Its the great AI Turing-Test-Off!
I asked Claude, Bing, Bard & GPT-4 to ask a question, and guess which answer was written by me, and which was written by one of the other AI models
Bing & Claude both thought GPT-4 was human. GPT-4 thought Bard was. No one thought I was human.
