Why the MOON? Since the beginning of time, smarter people have realized that to control the masses, they need to be fed and distracted. That's why human history is full of epic events that take everyone's breath away. "Give them bread and circuses, and they will never revolt." – Juvenal, 1st century AD. Every few years, something big happens that captures everyone's attention. And every decade, an even bigger and more epic event takes place. For thousands of years, people have produced great shows. There are many good producers who can make events maximally distracting and satisfying, and who can also manage to make a lot of money, resources, power. The competition for these opportunities is so high that only the smartest and most efficient producers get the chance to produce such a show, no stupid decisions or inefficient actions are allowed here. In the 1960s, as the space race was heating up, it was the topic of the decade. Landing humans on the moon was chosen for the great show and the fact that the technology to do it didn't yet exist didn't stop anyone. There were two options: to develop the technology, test it, and make sure it was 100% certain to work before attempting a moon landing, or to stage the event. The first option was very dangerous. With new technology, there are always a million things that could go wrong. And if anything did go wrong during a live broadcast, the show would fail with disastrous consequences. The second option was a lot easier and safer. It would require a lot less money and time, and there was no risk of the mission failing due to technical problems. But it had one big problem: information about staging could leak and the mission could fail that way. So, smart producers decided to do it in a combined way. They would actually organize everything, with rocket launch, lots of engineers in NASA's offices and tv personnel, the part that can't go wrong, but the lunar module landing and the walk on the moon would be staged in a studio environment and broadcast from there. This way, they could grab billions of dollars of taxpayer money for themselves. The only people who would know the truth would be the three astronauts and a few people in the studio. And it would be easy to keep them quiet. And they did it. And everything was according to plan, as usual. No one would ever allow such an important worldwide event to be executed in the riskiest possible way. And for what? The goal was to distract the world, not to land on the moon. There is nothing interesting there. That's why no one goes there now. The five subsequent missions that "landed" on the moon were necessary to ensure the legend and to pocket even more money. Hollywood movie productions will never achieve that kind of scale. This is just one more 'truth' that people are deceived into believing. And because everyone believes it and strong emotions of pride and achievement are involved, no one will reconsider anything, only defend it. As Mark Twain said: "It's easier to fool people than it is to convince them that they have been fooled."
