It has been over a month since the Union Budget 2026, giving GCC leaders and their teams time to move beyond the initial announcements and assess how the proposals translate into operational impact. Early feedback from the GCC community indicates strong appreciation for the proposed reforms to the Safe Harbour and Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) frameworks. Simplifying the Safe Harbour structure and introducing clearer timelines for APAs are viewed as practical steps that improve tax certainty for global operating models. Greater clarity in these mechanisms enables GCCs to spend less time managing procedural complexity and more time focusing on strategic work and capability development in India.
