Trump Hands the Open Ocean and 92 Million Acres Back to the American People
President Trump signed twin executive orders Thursday that do something Washington has spent years avoiding: treat hunters, anglers, charter captains, and boaters like owners of the country instead of suspects.
One order, Restoring American Saltwater Angling and Recreation, directs agencies to suspend, revise, or rescind rules that have piled up on saltwater anglers, boaters, and coastal businesses. The other, Reinvigorating America’s Hunting Heritage, pushes a presumption of access on federal lands and builds on Interior’s earlier expansion of hunting and fishing across more than 92 million acres in 32 states — more than 95 percent of National Wildlife Refuge System lands.
The White House put the stakes in plain numbers. America’s outdoor recreation sector generates over $1.2 trillion a year and supports more than 5 million jobs. The saltwater order says federal fisheries management should stop treating recreation as an afterthought and start empowering the people who actually use the water.
Trump did not hide what he thought of the last administration’s approach. “The Biden administration tried to bludgeon the boating and maritime industry with a ridiculous boating speed limit of no more than 10 miles per hour,” he said. “American boaters can now once again enjoy the open ocean. And you can go slightly faster than 10 miles an hour, like 120 miles an hour if you’re crazy. But you can go as fast as you want.”
On the land side, the message was just as direct. “We believe that public lands belong to the AMERICAN PEOPLE and to the public. And hunters, fishers, and outdoorsmen should be able to access them.” The administration also said 92 million acres of federal lands have been opened up under Trump.
Nick Sortor captured the pairing in two posts Thursday night: first the land access, then the reversal of Biden-era rules on saltwater anglers, boaters, charter captains, and coastal communities. The hunting order frames American hunters and anglers as “the greatest conservationists the world has ever known” and says they should “reclaim our Nation’s wilderness.”
This is not a press-release conservation lecture. It is a policy bet that people who hunt, fish, and run boats will take better care of land and water than a bureaucracy that defaults to closures, mail-in surveys, and 10-mph nanny rules. Agencies now have marching orders to modernize catch reporting, ease permitting for compliant charter operators, review habitat work, and stop locking Americans out of what they already own.
Common sense is back on the water and on the refuge. The public lands are public again. The ocean is open again. And the people who actually use them no longer have to ask permission from the same crowd that spent years trying to slow them down to a crawl.

DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT ME?😊
Just to clear the air: I’m a MAGA conservative, but that doesn’t mean what a lot of you apparently think it does. Let’s break it down, because I’m tired of being told what I believe and what I stand for. Spoiler: not every conservative is the same, but most of us I know share these same principles.
1. I believe America should never depend on another country for energy, protection, or basic supply and demand. We are strongest when we build, produce, and protect things right here in the USA.
2. I believe America must put itself first. We cannot pour from an empty cup. Our country should prioritize our own people before trying to save the world.
3. I believe only legal citizens have the right to vote. You must have a valid ID to vote. I also believe in a secure election process.
4. I believe no foreign aid should be given until every veteran at home is taken care of.
5. I believe immigrants make America stronger — when they come legally. If your first act in this country is breaking the law, you aren’t an upstanding citizen.
6. You can marry who you want. I may agree or disagree with your lifestyle, but your life is not mine to judge, I leave that to God Almighty.
7. I believe men are men and women are women. Surgery or hormone don’t change that. Men should use men’s bathrooms, and women should use women’s bathrooms.
8. I believe schools are for education, not indoctrination. Kids should learn math, history, reading, and science - not political propaganda. They should not be taught they were “born in the wrong body” or pushed into gender delusion.
9. I believe America is in a mental health crisis. Mental health care is real, it matters, and it desperately needs to be addressed.
10. I believe guns aren’t the problem - people are. Gun control only infringes on constitutional rights. But I also believe in common sense: background checks are necessary to keep firearms out of the hands of the mentally ill.
I’m a conservative because I believe in faith, family, freedom, and personal responsibility. I don’t want a government that controls every aspect of our lives - I want a government that protects our rights, secures our borders, defends our freedoms, and then gets out of the way. We are strongest when Americans take care of America first, when families are supported, when our veterans are honored, and when our children are given truth, not propaganda. I love this country, and I believe it’s worth fighting for.

No, I'm not anti-tax. I'm anti taxing us out
of Washington.
Here's the part nobody in Olympia wants to
talk about: it isn't that we don't send them
enough. It's what happens to it after we do.
$537 million paid out in lawsuit settlements
last year. An all-time high, five times what
we paid in 2021. That money was owed. The
question is why we owed it. Every one of those
cases is the state failing somebody it was
supposed to protect.
The insurance fund covering it is $1.7 billion
in the red.
$1.3 billion in child care payments the State
Auditor cannot trace.
$646 million lost out of unemployment.
Meanwhile 71% of employers say taxes are their
number one problem, and 55% are thinking about
leaving the state themselves. Up 11 points in
a single year.
And this isn't a Republican talking point.
Former Democratic Governor Gary Locke, last
month: "There's no budget discipline. They're
taking one-time money and creating permanent
programs." Then he asked what happens when
that money runs out.
Pretty sure Olympia already answered that.
We're not undertaxed.
We're underaudited.
Audit before ask.

Sophie Cunningham does not deserve this. This won’t stop until the WNBA puts a stop to it. I never believed in white privilege because the saying was overused and I never saw people acting the way that these black people do. There was no need for this. I am certainly believing in black privilege now because they seem to think that they can continue to break rules and assault people without consequences.
