"The mills of God grind slowly/yet grind exceeding small"
obsessed with this
Holy shit, I didn't realize Scott Colom was denied a federal judgeship because Cindy Hyde-Smith blocked his nomination by lying about his connections to George Soros hahahahaha
If she hadn't done that he'd be a district judge and instead he's going to beat her in a Senate race and become the first black Senator from Mississippi since 1870. Nobody has ever been owned this hard by poetic justice
The mills of God grind slowly/yet grind exceeding small
Wow, this is huge.

Amy Acton letting Vivek Ramaswamy go to voicemail is a lesson for women. You don’t owe people who mistreat you reconciliations, forgiveness or platitudes. You certainly don’t owe people who enable your abuser anything. You owe yourself peace. 🥺

I have been holding my tongue about something that happened during the Ohio gubernatorial race. I refused to speak while the election was underway because I did not want my words mistaken for an attempt to influence anyone’s vote.
But now that the election is over, I have something to say.
For nearly twenty years, my ministry has taken me among the homeless, the abused, the exploited, and the forgotten. I have sat with victims of sexual violence and witnessed the lifelong wounds of childhood trauma.
What Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign did to Amy Acton was among the most morally repulsive things I have witnessed in American politics.
They took a woman whose stepfather was indicted for raping her when she was twelve years old and featured her mother, from whom she had been estranged for nearly fifty years, in a political advertisement attacking her credibility.
The advertisement challenged Acton’s account of her childhood without mentioning the sexual abuse allegations or the circumstances of that estrangement. When people expressed their horror, the campaign defended it.
Imagine examining another person’s childhood suffering and fractured family relationships, then deciding those wounds might help win an election.
Anyone who has worked with survivors of childhood sexual abuse understands the painful realities of denial, betrayal, shame, and estrangement. A child growing into a successful adult does not erase what happened. Nor does a parent’s denial make that suffering disappear.
I find it equally disturbing that an elderly mother, whom Acton herself described as unwell, was brought into this spectacle. Whatever her own struggles or responsibility for the past, exploiting that fractured relationship was grotesque.
To everyone who defended this, consider the message you sent to survivors. To the young woman whose family refuses to believe her. To the man who has carried the shame of childhood abuse for forty years. To the frightened child who has yet to tell anyone.
What did you teach them about the value of their suffering?
I am a priest. I believe in repentance, forgiveness, and redemption. But none of those things requires me to pretend that deliberate cruelty is anything less than a grave moral failure.
Your political allegiance does not absolve you of moral responsibility. You do not get to set aside your conscience during an election and retrieve it afterward.
If your loyalty requires you to defend the exploitation of a childhood sexual abuse survivor, your loyalty has become an idol. And if your conscience cannot recognize the wrong here, examine what political tribalism has done to it.
This is not about Republicans or Democrats. We have a choice as a people: continue excusing cruelty from our preferred political camp, or summon the courage to condemn it wherever it appears.
Amy Acton deserved better. Every survivor who watched this unfold deserved better.
And God help us if we have reached the point where winning an election matters more than protecting the dignity of a wounded human being.
Man, they got a cafeteria and a courthouse therapy dog up here, this is so much nicer than cook county
Busy day today. Going up to Lake County for a pre-trial, and then up to Milwaukee with another client to help her make a police report.
I should be getting ready for bed but for some reason I'm watching the Maine senate race on the edge of my seat

The Radius should not be booking kpop idols if it’s literally not safe for them to dance there. Like this is not the first time this has happened, a Dreamcatcher member literally fell off the stage previously. Ridiculous.
I love this so much

“Come on, Bori. Come into oppa’s arms!” Hearing this reassuring call from the set, Bori came running forward with all her might. Sung Hanbin then picked Bori up and held her close, burying his face in those very narrow shoulders. “Bori, do you like it?”
No language is needed to understand each other’s hearts. The art of love that Sung Hanbin and ‘Bori’ have learned over the past 10 years!
Sung Hanbin’s family first met Bori about 10 years ago. Their story began with a scruffy little puppy whom his father and younger sibling happened to find in front of a restaurant called ‘Bori Gulbi’. The puppy was trembling inside an old cardboard box. Although the family had no way of knowing what Bori’s life had been like before or how old Bori was, when they first met, Bori ran straight towards Hanbin as if waiting for him all along, gently wagging their tail and snuggling into his arms. And just like that, Bori found a new home. With the ‘Hanbin family’.

Last year, through its ‘Hello, Little Love’ project, ELLE offered its first greeting to all the little loves in the world. And one year later, it takes a step beyond simply asking what it means to live alongside animals, to talk about how much they enrich and beautify our world. Without forgetting the reality that countless animals are still being abandoned, and believing that a single photograph can change someone’s tomorrow. Love is always about expanding each other’s worlds. So, once again, hello. To all the little loves in the world. And to the bigger world we will open together.
‘2026 Hello, Little Love’ will soon continue with a special photography exhibition.
