Just to reiterate the point for the 27th time: every word out of Amodei’s mouth needs to be understood as a sales pitch for a $2 trillion valuation despite posting $81 billion in net loss in q1+2 of this year. Much easier to go public if you’ve deluded investors into believing Claude is omnipotent rather than a merely useful tool!
This is f*cking wild. Someone asked Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei what a kid finishing high school should do right now. He didn't sugarcoat it: "AI can do entry-level law work. It can do entry-level finance. It can do entry-level consulting. AI will also eliminate jobs, and probably a large number of them" In 42 seconds, he lists the first careers in the line of fire: junior law, junior finance, junior consulting He's already put a number on it: half of entry-level white-collar jobs disrupted within 1 to 5 years Every shift before this one, from farms to factories to the internet, gave people time to catch up. This one, he says, cuts deeper and moves faster Chatting → Prompting → Agents → Harness → Loops → You Run the AI His advice is simple: learn to use AI. But using it is now the bare minimum. What sets you apart is a harness that runs it for you Bookmark this before your feed buries it Every repo below costs nothing: Ready-made Claude plugins for legal, finance, sales, HR and data github.com/anthropics/knowle… Analyst-grade agents: models, memos, research notes github.com/anthropics/financ… Skills for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PDF github.com/anthropics/skills An agent that does financial research on its own github.com/virattt/dexter An agent that researches any topic in depth github.com/assafelovic/gpt-r… Ask your spreadsheets and databases questions in plain English github.com/sinaptik-ai/panda… Agents that work as a team, each with its own role github.com/crewAIInc/crewAI A harness with everything built in github.com/langchain-ai/deep… Anthropic's SDK for building your own agents github.com/anthropics/claude… A memory layer so your agents remember context github.com/mem0ai/mem0 A loop that keeps the agent going until the job is done github.com/snarktank/ralph An agent that clicks through websites and fills forms for you github.com/browser-use/brows… Automate busywork with drag-and-drop workflows github.com/n8n-io/n8n 18 free lessons on building agents github.com/microsoft/ai-agen… Total cost: $0 It won't be AI that takes your seat. It'll be someone who built a harness 95% will keep sending résumés for work AI already does, the 5% with a harness will be the ones managing it Save it and forward it to anyone starting their first job Then follow the guide below and build your harness while everyone else is still waiting ↓

Corporate America hasn’t done a great job politically either — staying silent on tariffs, tolerating too much disorder and poor governance in big cities, Big Tech going all-in on Trump and now carrying a lot of 2027-29 political risk.
A world where the GOP feels the heat of competition in red southern states and Dems feel it in blue northern states is a better one. Both parties’ analytical and campaign abilities atrophied bc they’ve been anchored by uncompetitive states.

.@Peggynoonannyc empties the clip "The American people expect a certain amount of corruption in government because government is composed of people, and men aren’t angels. They’ll accept a normal amount if the government keeps a strong economy and peace. But fail on the economy and peace and they’ll see your corruption and be angered by it. And if you give them corruption that is showy and shameless, they will punish you. They will admit to themselves that you are unusually sleazy and moneygrubbing—Bitcoin! Crypto! Charges of pardons for sale! Federal contracts for the companies of the sons! PLS WIRE AMEX 100K SOONEST!—and they will turn on you. "In this regard most of all, this White House drove the Republican brand into the ground.

As a biologist working in drug development, I’m sick and tired of “curing diseases” being paraded around as the one thing that makes AI worthwhile. AI has not developed a single drug. Nor has it made any unique discoveries that could directly lead to the development of one.
Slowing down AI is not just about waiting a few more years for better tech. It means losing millions of people who will die from diseases that AI could have cured.

Reid Hoffman on this moment for tech. “You guys aren’t the actual leaders of the Valley. You’re the mis-leaders of the Valley." “It will no longer be that these MAGA voices in the Valley are in charge.” nytimes.com/2026/11/05/techn…

Every anti-Paxton Republican I talked to was sick of exactly this kind of crap. They want the party to grow up, stop acting like Biff from Back to the Future, and actually try competence and integrity for a change.
Texas just gave a Senate seat to a sexually ambiguous anti-meat communist who needs 14 days of solitude to recover from a sniffle Pretty much sums up the whole night

In many ways this is backwards. SV spent minimal time explaining what AI could do for people--ads were literally like "it can generate a work email or, uh, summarize a work email?"--and lotta time saying "this is inevitable, will take your job, and maybe go rogue and kill you."
silicon valley spent so much time trying to explain what ai will make possible for ppl. but it deeply underestimated how many ppl are primarily fearful of what ai will take away from them.

I agree with the substance of Sam Altman’s post below. However, I want to reiterate that the American people have spoken and elected Democrats to control Congress. We do not call AI “superintelligence.” We call it what normal people call it, Artificial Intelligence.
People should always be in control of the future. OpenAI is against the notion that it would be acceptable for people to be relegated to a role of doing things that “AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans”. People should not cede control of the future to superintelligence, and that requirement should ultimately constrain AI progress.

Can you imagine the gall of a woman not picking up the phone for a guy who weaponized her rape when she was 12? How dare she.
There's nothing these people love more than their side imitating Trump's behavior. Nothing.

The tech industry broadly no longer looks to make the everyday persons life better they are mainly focused on making companies richer, see the concentration of capital focused on the enterprise

Elon Musk moving to Texas to get away from Dems, becoming the biggest partisan megadonor in history, then spending around a half-billion dollars to have his own state go blue immediately in the next election — with data centers the top gov issue — is pretty impressive

One of my favorite lines from President Clinton’s endorsement of Scott Colom last week: “Now, my friend George W. Bush once said, ‘Democracy is self-correcting.’ We’re about to find out in Mississippi if it’s true. We’re about to find out, because Scott is the correction.”

Tariffs were pitched as the fix for America’s trade deficit. Instead… Last 21 Months: –$2.19 trillion deficit in Goods. 21 Months Prior: –$2.01 trillion deficit in Goods. The deficit didn’t shrink. It increased 9%.
