Here's the thing: Democrats didn't win voters' loyalty. They won an *audition* ahead of 2028.
The biggest mistake would be to squander it by sitting on their hands.
People voted for change. And will shift toward whichever party can ultimately deliver that.

The “lame duck” Congress is only a lame duck if it wants to be. If Republicans want to show they learned anything from the midterms, they’ll actually do something with the power they have before January.
There is no reason GOP Congress should not meet every day from now til January 3rd. We could:
- Pass reconciliation package to reduce spending/fraud, fund defense modernization (not war), cut taxes for American families including healthcare
- Ban Congressional Stock Trading (I have a bill)
- Codify Border Security (I have a bill)
- Pass Permitting Reform.
And more.
Turn things we should have finished into things we have done.
We owe it to Americans.

The @UtahGOP is due for a reset. I am a member of the Audit Committee (green box).
The Audit Committee is currently in a stand off with party leadership because of their refusal to provide us with the financial records needed to conduct our annual, internal audit. We receive information in trickles, peppered with reminders of confidentiality and that the bylaws state the information can only be shared with the SCC etc.
WARNING to the leadership: If @SLCountyGOP chairman @MikeCarey4CC post one more gaslighting thing about me on social media, I am going to take that to mean we are okay with being open about the financial improprieties of the party.
In other words, if you want it to be internal, keep it internal. If Carey is going to call me an asshole, clown, bullshitter etc for performing my duties on the Audit Committee then I am going to defend myself and prove him wrong by disclosing the information he is referencing.
I’m done being the party’s piñata. I aim to help leadership become ethical.
To: Chairman @RobertAxson and Treasurer @KnavelJason - you have been placed on notice, act accordingly.

Love Bear Bachmeier. Love his game, his family and what he represents as a player on the field and as a person off the field.
Bear threw as many ints today as he had thrown all year.
Bear’ went into the Holy War against Utah with 4 ints ON THE YEAR. His 4 ints cost BYU the game.
Tough outcome for a great young man with a bright future.
We will always keep it real and Bear’s next step in development is his touch and ability to layer throws in the short and intermediate passing game.

Here’s the thing. Money is fungible. PVIII committed over $100 million to BYU sports and a lot of that is going to football. So if Santiago knew that was in the works (which he would have) and temporarily invested money in basketball then nobody is short any money. It is a fixed pie, scarcity mentality that assumes money was taken from X for Y when there is plenty of money and donors to go around.
If Kalani needs something the money should be there via the PVIII and other donor commitments. No need to compare. Comparison is the thief of joy. Just let admin and donors know what exactly you need and we will be there for Kalani.

.@arthurbrooks nails it: faith, family, friends & meaningful work are 4 pillars of a happy life.
The data tell us:
✅ 0 pillars: 8% "very happy"
✅ All 4 pillars: 55% "very happy"
Marriage & work matter most. Money?
It barely registers, after you control for the pillars.
The happiest people I've met don't necessarily have the easiest lives or the most impressive accomplishments. But they tend to have four things in common:
-They take their faith or life philosophy seriously.
-They invest in their family relationships.
-They cultivate real friendships.
-They find meaning in work that creates value and serves others.
These are the four areas of life worth paying attention to if you want to live a more fulfilling life.

Much respect and credit to Utah for the 28-20 win over BYU.
BYU outgained the Utes 391-330, but Utah deserved to win by playing more cleanly, and dominating the second half.
Turnovers:
BYU 4
Utah 2
Penalties
BYU 11-80 yds
Utah 4-19 yds
2nd half BYU drives:
1. INT
2. 3 plays 0 yds, punt
3. 3 plays 0 yds, punt
4. INT
5. INT
There is a lot of football to be played, and BYU is still in the hunt. But today belongs to the Utes. They earned it.

Applebaum: Most Americans don't understand that Trump has prolonged war in Ukraine.
He made business deals with the Russians, refused to criticize them and looked away when they hit Ukrainians.
That gave Russia the inspiration to keep going. 1/

Free-market capitalism with limited government in a constitutional republic best lets people prosper as free enterprise and free people flourish better than cronyism, socialism, and populism.

No matter how prepared you are for a BYU Utah game to be insane it’s somehow always crazier than you thought possible

Utah misses the FG. This game is nuts. What we’ve come to expect.
BYU has a chance to go up two scores here.

SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT…
If i miss one credit card payment, that follows me for 7 years and tanks my ability to get an apartment.
But if a bank gets caught laundering money for actual criminals, they pay a fine that’s less than a rounding error on their quarterly earning and keep operating like nothing happened?
ONCE AGAIN, consequences are only for people who can’t afford to buy their way out of them. I’M SO SICK OF THE HYPOCRISY.
