Never, ever let them tell you it can't be done.
Palmer Luckey says analysts claiming it's too expensive to manufacture in the US are lying to protect megacorps
"I think I have a more realistic view than almost anybody. One of the problems with all these analysts that are telling you that it's going to cost $37,000 to build an American iPhone or $100,000 to buy an American computer."
"They're trying to prop up a status quo that the megacorporations want to keep going. They want to outsource everything. They want to hire cheaper non-American labor."
"They are willing to say and do anything to convince you that it can't be fixed, that it can't come back, that America is this helpless, neutered, post-relevant empire, and it is just not the case."
"How do I know that? Because I have to make stuff in America every day because I work in the defense industry. The stuff that Anduril makes every day is not actually that different from a computer. My drones are basically computers. They have memory, a GPU, a CPU, sensors, batteries, a rugged integration."
"The only difference between an Anduril attack drone and a laptop is a keyboard and a screen. That is not that hard to figure out, especially for a guy like me who started Oculus and comes from the consumer electronics space."
"We're not going to let people lie about what America can and can't do anymore. We're just going to do it."

I'm starting a new account for the reverse pitch competition for America-loving VCs: @buildflyover.
Give us a follow for unbridled patriotism, reindustrialization, American dominance...and why we don’t need to import millions of people to do shit we already do better, because we’re Americans.
Ben Franklin got struck by lightning on purpose.
Maybe you’ve heard the story before of how an American tradesman without a college degree combined a simple kite and a key to tame lightning.
Franklin conducted his experiment in 1752, at a time when electricity was not fully understood.
Scientists and academics in Europe were studying static electricity, and the hypothesis circulated that lightning might also be a form of electricity.
But none of them dared to go outside and goad the forces of nature.
It took an AMERICAN to do it.
For his unorthodox field experiment, the Royal Society in London awarded Franklin a medal in 1754.
The study of electricity wasn’t broken open by a Parisian salon or an Oxford academic, but by a self-employed printer from Philadelphia who braved the storm.
Americans have been on the forefront of hard tech since before we called ourselves “Americans.”
We’re going to stay there.
Build American.

This is exactly why I started @RedBalloonWork.
Right now, most workplace discrimination happens because of DEI quotas and anti-American sentiment.
In 2021 I was given a choice between my job and my values; I stuck with my values and lost my job. So, we started a job board where people could find jobs if this happened to them. @RedBalloonWork was born late in the year.
In 2023: We passed 3000 businesses on the platform and launched RedBalloon Recruiter to help American businesses affordably hire real builders and create meritocracies.
Today, we've completed over 800+ Recruiter engagements and placed thousands of hard working Americans through our job board.
If you're an American employer who wants to escape the DEI nonsense, come to RedBalloon and get your first job posting completely FREE!
If you're a job seeker, come create a free profile and apply to thousands of jobs where you don't have to worry about being fired because of your faith or values.

In our age of "safetyism" it's important to learn from the lessons of the past. Great things are never built without people who know how to sacrifice.
As Augustus points out, the extent of this sacrifice was obviously tragic. But that doesn't mean that risk, challenge, and adventure are something to eliminate from work.
Quite the contrary, in fact. We need much MORE risk, challenge, and adventure in our work today. That's how great things are built and historic moments are won.
Bring that energy into this week!

money pouring into reindustrialization doesn't only benefit the startup, but local vendors, distributors, machine shops, talent... regardless of the outcome of said startup
this is why this is a good trend
